We have stayed at three different Casitas at Campanilla. All of our visits have been fabulous. On these occasions we shared the space with my husband's brother and his wife. The casitas are just wonderful, beautifully decorated, comfortable and equipped more than adequately. The patios and decks were the source of a lot of great times in the evening while drinking margaritas or sangria while watching the Santa Fe sunsets. The Plaza is an easy walk from Campanilla; parking is free; the bedrooms and baths are comfortable; the kitchens very easy to cook in. Pauline, the manager was extremely helpful to me when I made the arrangements the last time. She helped me to choose the right condo and arranged for some extras that I requested. Everything about our visit was superb. I would not hesitate to recommend this space to anyone who wants to travel and enjoy their visit to Santa Fe.

We have stayed at the Campanilla Compound at least five times over several years. It is our favorite place to stay in Santa Fe when we are coming for longer than a weekend.

The grounds are lovely, the location is great, and the casitas are very cozy.

We usually stay in #5, which is a one bedroom with two fireplaces. It has a small patio with a table and chairs and grill and another small courtyard.

The bathroom is very nice as is the kitchen. The furnishings are of a good style and everything is very clean and well maintained.

Our only complaint is that there is a skylight right above the bed which allows early morning light to come in way before we were ready to wake up. It would be nice if there was an optional shade for this skylight.

We love to stay at Campanilla Compound and will continue staying there. We have seen various other casitas and all were very very nice.

We have been staying at Campanilla Compound once a year (sometimes renting more than one unit for family) for more than 16 years. The place itself is lovely. However, the "new" manager is not an asset to this property (this is a quarter share property). Last year she switched our condo (we've also stay in the same one. Or if that wasn't available we were given a choice of others) without asking us if this was okay. By the time we got there there was nothing we could do ("ours" was rented out already).

This year we were supposed to be there this week. However, our dog (13) is dying and we had to cancel. We figured we'd go back around the holidays (in fact, I've already made a reservation at another place). The website clearly states that if you cancel 7 days (we cancelled 7 days in advance) or less you have to pay for one night. That's fair. Instead, this "manager" told us we'd have to pay for the entire stay (5 nights at nearly $1500). I have, of course, disputed this with my credit card company. Even the confirmation we received by email doesn't say you have to pay for the entire stay if you cancel.

We loved the previous manager, Marilyn. She was a real people person and always made us feel like we were part of the CC community. This "new" woman, didn't even take the time to introduce herself to us last year (and our condo -- the one we didn't ask for -- was directly across from her office).

If you reserve at CC, be careful. This is no longer a "people" first place. I'm sure the homeowners (they are the ones that get most of the fees) would not be happy to know that this manager is treating longtime guests in this manner (as longtime guests -- at least this one -- will never go there again).

What's especially sad is that the place is just beautiful, and we have loved staying there (before last year) for so many years. But things change.

Campanillacondos, General Manager at Campanilla Compound, responded to this reviewResponded 15 September 2010

Campanilla values all comments and feedback about our property and customner service. We take each concern seriously. We have made positive changes to our cancellation policy and we are sorry if the guest was unhappy with the end result. We hope to continue our good standing and continue serving the many guests that have been coming to our property for the past 25 years. We value all of our guests, new or long time guests. I would encourage DeborahPub to contact me at Campanilla so we can discuss and resolve her concerns. We hate to lose such a valuable customer.

We recently returned from a week in Santa Fe where we stayed at Campanilla Compound. We found it immaculate, tastefully decorated, and within walking distance to the Plaza. We've stayed in a casita before and various hotels nearby, but this was our favorite. We had a cozy two bedroom with two balconies. The kitchen had everything we needed and was generously supplied. We will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend it, especially if you want quiet and privacy.

Campanilla Compound has a good location, just outside the Paseo and within walking distance to many of the downtown and Canyon Road galleries and restaurants. We had a large 2 bedroom, 3 bath unit with charming private courtyards, a nice living room, and a full kitchen. It was very quiet there. No AC but we didn't need it even though the daytime temp went to the high 80's. Could be warm at night in a west-facing bedroom in July or August, though. Furnishings, towels, and dishes were nice; wood beams, high ceilings and fireplaces were charming. Bathrooms would have benefitted from nicer shower curtains, floor tile repair, and additional toiletries (soap only provided). As long as you don't expect hotel amenities or a pool, this is a great place to stay close in, in Santa Fe.
