“Our Santa Fe home away from home.”
Reviewed 8 December 2008

As we have stayed at the Inn on the Alameda at least 10 times, everytime we feel welcomed as family. It is a nice feeling after our 10 hour drive from Tx. to Santa Fe to be so greeted. The ambiance of the place always delights. I love there outdoor jacuzzi. The casita represents the true Santa Fe vibe. Wine & Cheese is a nice touch. Proximity to everything is excellent. And as most of the reception staff is not from the area, they have a good local knowledge of SF. Very cozy lobby with the fireplace always going. The breakfast is very good but my wife also would like something other than Carbs. for breakfast. So that is the only improvment we would like to see. This place reminds me of the ole Santa Fe I encountered over 30 years ago and still brings me back. As I write this, we are planning a early Jan/ 09 visit. Pinon smoke drifting through the Santa Fe sky....ahhhh.

  • Liked — Ambiance of the INN
  • Disliked — Carb heavy breakfast

My partner and I just enjoyed three wonderful days at the Inn on the Alameda in Santa Fe. The room was spacious, clean, and quite. The room rate included a wonderful daily breakfast, which accommodates late sleepers by running until 11 a.m. ;-), and a daily wine and cheese happy hour. Two fireplaces in the lobby area made our breakfasts cozy and warm. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the region.

The Inn's location is one of the best in Santa Fe if you desire access to Canyon Road's fantastic galleries and restaurants and/or the city's historic plaza.

I typically book my accommodations online, but decided to telephone the property directly for this booking. The reservationist was very friendly and I ended up with a better rate than was offered online.

I was very pleased with the Inn and already have recommended it to my close friend who will visit this month. We will stay there again.

We were supposed to stay two nights and ended up to stay three, not only because of Santa Fe's interest and charm but also much because of the comfort of this hotel. You feel "home" without the constraints of home. Employees are extremely helpful and kind and did everything to accomodate us. They are well drilled to give information about museum location, restaurants etc. I know all reviews are already positive about this hotel and mine should not make a difference but just think that it means that a stay at this hotel is enjoyable to all kinds of travellers. You can leave your car at the hotel and walk to all interesting places in maximum 5 to 10 minutes. The hotel parking is large enough and you can generally park close to your room. There is traffic on Alameda street during the day, but nothing at night, so it is extremely quiet. And there is this wonderful complimentary cheese and wine gathering between 4 and 5 pm, which is ideal to rest and relax after a busy day strolling Santa Fe and its surroundings (there are so many things to see and do around). Decoration is nice and cosy in the lounge and the rooms. And the hot breakfast is inventive and tasty. If you go to Santa Fe, I think the comfort of this hotel is hard to beat.

  • Liked — Decoration, quiet, comfort, walking distance to everything
  • Disliked — Rooms maybe a little bit dark during the day

Based on all the great reviews I read on the Trip Advisor website, I booked my big birthday trip (you know, one of those birthdays that ends in a zero) at the Inn on the Alameda. It lived up to every good thing I read and more! From the individual who took the reservation, to the front desk clerk, to the manager--everyone went out of their way to make it a very special occasion for me... it could not have been more perfect!

Front desk could not have been more helpful.
Delightful breakfast included and also wine and cheese every afternoon (a little early 4-5)
Room was spotless and large (deluxe with 2 queen beds)
We liked the location- a block from Canyon Road and just outside the Paseo de Peralta circle so off the beaten path a bit but only a maybe 10 min walk from Center of Santa Fe.
Just across from Santa Fe River-very parklike location.
Make sure to not get a room (we had 305) that faces a particular parking lot - garbage pick-up in AM at 4:30 to 5-very noisy.

Hotel subscribes to VanGo-complimentary van service all day and into night 8PM to 11PM depending on the day.
Needs to be reserved in advance of time and day you want because very busy.
