Tiny is an understatement. No room to turn around no place to sit I'm only 5 ft 6 and my feet hung over the end of the bed you cannot turn around in shower. Really great staff but just doesn't make up for the room

I worried over this choice and I was so very pleased. It is a simple, basic hotel on beautiful grounds. It was supremely clean, quiet and I have no complaints. If you are a fuss budget and want elegant appointments, move on. If you are a clean freak and peer in corners, under beds, behind shower curtains, you'll be happy here! It's spotless and no gross mildew, musty smell. The flowers are outstanding, the bed linens crisp and pretty. Just do it. Oh, we had a king room and it was big enough for the two of us to dance around! My husband is six feet and a large man! Highly recommend this great little place!

Room Tip: King was as big as any budget hotel room I've been in.

We had originally booked a 2 night stay (4/30-5/02) at The Orca Inn, while on a whale watching trip. When trying to book, i was told he was busy and needed to call me back. Once we arrived the buildings were run down, and had an odd stench. During check in the man at the front desk was almost put out as he had to check us in. We quickly dropped our stuff and headed to dinner. Upon returning to the hotel, we discovered that the entire side of the room was soaking wet, to the point you stepped and it squished!! Also had a moldy smell. We tried to talk to the front desk but they were closed (they leave at 10). So first thing in the morning we let the frobr deak know we were checking out early, and that there was a water covering the floor, to which she respondee "Really? Your in 314 we just fixed that". She offered to change rooms but we we didnt want to risk any further issues. So we got our money back (reason for the one star)

If you are on a budget and just need a bed to sleep in, this place is for you. Especially during the peak season summer months. I stayed here on Monday night (4/25/2016) and got the "Micro Full" room for a total rate of $71.68. The hotel consists of 7-8 block style dormitory like housing, occupied mostly by mainland transient workers (carpenters, utility employees, carpenters, boat workers) from the mainland stuck here on the island during the work week. Expect to hear their TV's through the thin walls, as well as the constant noise of private planes taking off at the airport next door. There is no charm to this place at all. The rooms are terribly outdated and very small. In the shower, I turned on the light which also turns on the fan which sounded like a helecoptor. Detailed instructions are posted telling you that each individual room has it's own water heater and warns of a very quick shower before running out of hot water, and even suggests you turn off the water while in the shower while shaving or whatever. The property and rooms are clean, and the staff at the front desk office were very nice. However, if you come all this way to the islands and want to experience Friday Harbor charm, stay closer to the harbor and pay more.

This is a very good choice if you are looking strictly for a place to sleep and want to save the money to spend exploring the island. It's truly a bed and a bathroom. Clean and comfortable but not fancy if that's what you are seeking.
