Room's smelled like mold!

Got sick and threw up. Some of our group had migraines, others got scratchy sore throats. Elevators old, slow, and did not have air conditioning.
No visible hotel security by river walk. Carpeting was filthy in hallways
We sincerely apologize for the less than exceptional experience. What you describe is truly not typical for our property, as we have a sizeable Loss Prevention department that patrols constantly, and routine cleaning & maintenance programs that keep our guestrooms and spaces clean and well maintained. It is true that our elevators are hydraulic, and thus slower than high rise elevators, and our corridors are not air conditioned due to the open layout of the campus. Thankfully our building is, low rise, with our highest level being the 7th floor. Again we apologize and hope you will afford us a future opportunity to regain your confidence.
The price of parking is forty dollars. Yes, you read that right, four-zero, forty dollars! The hotel is average. It is old but they present it as "colonial". The room was average with some maintenance issues. No gym (they use the one in the hotel across the street). Stay elsewhere; across the street there is a much better hotel.
Please accept our apologies for your visit not meeting expectations. Parking in downtown San Antonio can be a challenge, so we are fortunate to have ample valet parking space available for our guests. We routinely survey our area and assure you the $39 valet parking fee we charge is very comparable to other downtown hotels. While our fitness center is indeed fifty footsteps across the river walk in our sister property, Mokara Hotel & Spa, the vast majority of our guests appreciate the rooftop views and large size of the workout facility. Again, we apologize that your visit was less than exceptional and hope you will give us another opportunity to prove we are capable of better.
My wife, 10-year-old daughter and I, stayed on August 3 – 5. We were in an Ambassador Suite on the 2nd floor. The room provided extra space for the three of us with an awesome balcony overlooking the River walk. We entertained ourselves for hours watching the people, birds, and ducks all along the river walk.
The hotel is a bit older, but very comfortable. Unfortunately, the check in process is a bit disorganize based on the honor system of whose turn is next. The other area that could use some dramatic improvement is the house keeping service. Don’t get me wrong, the cleaning staff is friendly, but I believe some better management over this group would provide better results and a more positive experience for the guest. Turn-down service was equally as bad as the maid service.
If you pick this hotel, do so because of the location, the amazing breakfast, and overall friendly staff. From the hotel and if you Uber-it ($6.00 each way), the hotel is only 4 minutes to the Alamo and 7 minutes to the historical market square. We kept our car with the valet the entire time. Bit costly, but secure. The breakfast is super hardy with a fantastic selection fitting for a king. You will always be greeted with a smile by all the hotel staff.

I was treated with the utmost respect starting from the concierge to the front desk personnel. The front desk clerk McCoy was very nice and made me feel special. He was very attentive to my needs and ensured that they were met. A true example of a person who cares about the company's customers and takes his job to heart.

We booked La Mansion Del Rio for 30th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been more happier. Great staff, great location overall experience was awesome. It was the attention to detail such as a anniversary card in our room upon arrival, at dinner we we're presented with a lovely dessert with a "happy 30 years" spelled out on the plate. Needless to say that these were things that my wife loved and I.
