Go with eyes wide open and each time, you will see new things and wonderful surprises. The desert trail is a great hike and the surrounding landscape is full of so many different cacti and flowers of all shapes and sizes. The first time you hear the water you get excited. We decided to go off the trail and followed the stream and before we knew we were surrounded by lush green leaves and grasses. We were so busy strolling and exploring that we didn't go but maybe a couple miles up the trail. It leaves you feeling so at peace.

This is a relatively easy 3 mile (one way) hike to an old forest service dam. More experienced hikers can go from here to Mt Kimball.

Some nice views, not too difficult....After the monsoons, can be a little over grown...Not bad, but I like Sabino Canyon beter

One of my favorite hiking spot in Tucson. The trail starts in the desert and goes through the canyon with tall tress and green vegetation. Well maintained trail. Make sure to carry enough water because you won't be able to refill your water bottles. It's about 5 miles around trip to the dam!

This is a terrific hike among the desert flora. It can be done to any length, time, and ability. It's an out and back trail - you get to decide how much to do. It's great for kids.
