The Mall area is long and wide and calls for walks with friends and family. The Student Union is replete with eateries. The landscape is all native. It's a pretty place to walk through

Many buildings, lots of architecture and trees, you can easily log 3 miles and enjoy every step.

...It has been since when Arizona was still a territory. The old wooden school buildings are still in working order on the campus' center. UA is a nice stroll if you have business there, but I don't frequent the campus. It's a bit stark, probably because the sun is so hostile to extensive plantings -- plus the architecture is nothing to write home about, all bricks and concrete and glass and steel, very utilitarian. Plus the football stadium is the biggest structure on campus, which tells you about the University's priorities. (However, beneath the stadium is the Lens Manufactury where great telescope lenses are cast and polished -- one of the best such establishments in the world. So that tells you something, too. On campus, highlights for me are the Arizona State Museum, rich in Native American and Spanish/Mexican collections; and the Fourth Avenue Entrance, leading to Tucson's most eclectic and lively pedestrian-oriented shopping street. Major events besides sports include Solstice Celebrations with great fervor and the annual Tucson Book Fair, held each March.

It's a down to earth theatre without private balconies. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house (if you have binoculars). The seats are a bit hard so I'd suggest bringing a seat pillow.
The sound is great!
