Description: From Joseph + Esther DeQuattro of Pane Vino comes the much anticipated Massimo. Massimo brings the quintessential Italian trattoria to Providence’s Federal Hill Neighborhood. Offering a seasonal Italian menu inspired by the regional cuisines of Italy. Signature dishes include Fettuccine alla Carbonara with guanciale and a farm fresh egg, the Fig & Taleggio Pizza, and the House-Aged Rib-eye “Fiorentina.” Located at the gateway to federal hill, Massimo is classically designed to create a warm and lively setting, featuring dark woods and bright pops of yellow. Massimo’s spacious dining room has giant sliding glass doors that lend an al fresco feel to the entire first floor. Upstairs, the glass-enclosed dining room – including a full bar & lounge – make it the perfect place for occasions of all scopes and sizes, whether it’s a quiet night out with friends and family, a corporate team building event, or a boisterous celebration with seating for up to 100 guests. Massimo has unique Italian wines from small boutique Italian winemakers and a cellar selection from Italy, Spain and California. Our approach to wine is accessibility, quality and variety to encourage unfettered enjoyment. Our bar features beers on tap, cocktails, and a large selection of classic Italian amari, grappa and many other Italian liqueurs.

We have visited Italian restaurants all over the States including Boston, the west coast and Italy and this meal surpassed them all! My son had the duck with chestnut ravioli in a honey sage sauce and stated it was better than anything he had in Florence or the surrounds! My husband had the risotto with peas and shrimp and I had the gnocchi with braised short ribs. All three were superb. I can't forget the calamari and the mushroom truffle pizza we had for appetizers-extraordinary! We had the carafe of Chianti to complement everything. We ended the meal with espressos, grappa, crime brûlée and cannoli. Our server, Kamraan, helped us decide our courses and never missed a chance to stop by and check in on our enjoyment. All the staff is well trained and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a really good Italian/Tuscan meal this is the place. Ask for a table outside and you'll also get to enjoy the Maseratis,
Ferraris, Audis, as they stop to pick up their owners. Valet parking is complementary. Our next visit will definitely include Massimos!

Ms Rose,

I am so disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your experience here at Massimo. As a newer restaurant it is devastating to know that you came in and we did not provide an experience that was good enough to return. I would love to hear more about your visit and hopefully rectify this situation. My number is 401-273-0650. I am available any day/night Wed-Sunday. I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Sat outside at this roadside place on Federal Hill in Providence. We had great service and excellent food including calimari, linguini with clams (not in clam sauce) Caesar salad with fresh salmon, and a killer cannoli.

Steven,

Thank you for the 5 star review! I'm glad you had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather while it is still here! So happy you enjoyed your meal! We are planning on investing on a heating unit for the outdoors so we can stay open later outside. Hope to see you back again soon!

Massimo's is one of many restaurants on Federal Hill that is an excellent place for conversation, a bit of wine and an array of delectable food. No matter your preference, you won't be disappointed. The service is impeccable as is the atmosphere. I have been to Massimo's on more than one occasion and never disappointed. Highly recommend!

Delicious lunch special - choice of dishes for a three course lunch. Only 2 complaints - too much dressing on the endive salad, and the chicken picatta should have been more tender. Service was good, cannoli was great.

Katrinka,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your lunch experience with us! We just rolled out our new fall menu and have actually eliminated the endive salad for now. I am disappointed to hear the chicken was tough on the picatta normally it is so tender! I will go over this with the chef. We hope to see you back soon to try out our new menu!

Take care,
