First impressions are not great. Haber Motel is a small motel located behind two restaurants (one of which is a great option for breakfast) and therefore not easily visible from the road. However, it is conveniently located by an intersection by the town centre, with a shopping centre on another corner and the Information Centre just across the intersection. If you are a light sleeper you may have a problem with noise from night deliveries or garbage collections to/from the restaurants.

This motel is particularly convenient for travellers (like ourselves) who have not brought or rented a car, as both the free town shuttles (which cover a fair radius around the town) and the ‘Hikers’ Express’ free bus to Rocky Mountains National Park run from the Information Centre.

The motel offers well furnished rooms at a competitive price. A downside is that the office is very part time, but help is available by telephone at other times; this was never an issue for us. There is no outdoor seating.

Would we recommend the Haber Motel for a trip to Estes Park? It depends what you’re looking for. On the up side, first and foremost, the location is outstanding. A walk across the street, literally, puts you on the east end of downtown Estes — a wonderful little town. A five minute walk west puts you at the Visitor Center and shuttle to the trail-heads — if you’re even considering Estes, we assume hiking will form some part of your trip. Haber’s location allowed us to require our rental car very little during the trip. The room was reasonably well-appointed and clean. Haber is a Motel, but not the low-end type (read dirty) that you might be thinking about.

On the downside, the Haber is located on a tiny, scraggly lot. Its front faces the backside (read garbage bins) of two restaurants. At night it’s not particularly well lit. It offers no outside common area in which to read or have a drink. It’s an OK looking building, but as you approach it from downtown it doesn’t inspire. Housekeeping and “management” (available in the adjacent office during business hours) was reasonably good, but again, not inspiring.

So, would we recommend the Haber Motel for your trip? On balance we would say yes. As long as you’re prepared for the downside. Enjoy.

Disappointed!! Location of property is in a parking lot behind two commercial buildings and three dumpters. Semi delivered supplies to the restaurant at 3 am. Room itself was spacious and up to date but no comfortable seating provided. Also our room has a strong musty odor.

Ok, for a motel in a parking lot, this place is great!! Rooms were spacious and CLEAN! RJ was friendly and helpful and a delight. Everything was in walking distance, and I mean everything. Estes is beautiful and we loved our stay at the Haber Motel. We went to a chain hotel after our stay there and we were spoiled from our stay at the quaint motel. Thank you RJ for a great stay. We will be back!!

This is not a motel. This is a small, 4 star, boutique hotel. With only 8 magnificently upgraded rooms, this is a classy stay and is centrally located where one can walk to almost anywhere in town. This "motel" has free parking in front of the rooms whereas there is very tight parking in the rest of the town. It is a bit pricey but worth the extra dollars. You park here to stay then visit all the shops. Starbucks is across the street and behind Starbucks is a small river where you can sit and enjoy your morning latte.

Room Tip: 2nd floor units have Jacuzzi, lower 4 have handicapped bathrooms.
