When driving from Kona to Volcanoes National Park, or if heading south on highway 11 after a morning visit to Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau National Park, this is a great place to stop. There’s no food at Pu'uhonua o Hōnaunau National Park, so plan ahead. We enjoyed pulling off the road for a rest. Well, those of us who were not driving enjoyed it. Our fearless driver had to make a U-turn to go back to this stand because it came up quick. We were glad we did. The smoothies were delicious. The paninis were filling and kept us going all day. The macadamia nut desert was decadent. We picked up a giant avocado and some dried fruit to take with us too. The outdoor seating is up a few stairs under a canopy of plants and umbrellas. On the way, you can peer up into the tree-filled hillside. Don’t let the spiders bother you. It is a delightful place for a little lunch.
