This place has maid service only when you check out, not during your vist. Need clean sheets? You get them from the front desk and change them yourself. The lack of daily service shows in the cleanliness of the room. Big minus. Internet by plugin only, no wireless. The air conditioner is in the wall, and you can't hear the tv when it is on. If we hadn't paid in advance, we would have not stayed for 3 days.

This hotel regularly charges $59-$69 per night. This is a really good value for Albuquerque. If you just need a place to stay for one night or have an early flight out (I did), then this hotel is fine. I thought the location was fine. It is right off the highway. There are several restaurants nearby. A nice Applebees is right across the street. The check-in staff was very friendly. I booked a 1 queen bed suite. The room was very clean. The was one negative, however. The room was supposed to be non-smoking but it did smell of smoke. This was very noticeable when I tried to sleep. I could deal with it for one night. However, if you are sensitive to smoke, you should check out the room.

Yes, the hotel was reasonably priced. And the bed was reasonably comfortable. But, this may not be the cleanest nor safest place around. If you arrive during the night, you have to be buzzed in to the hotel. The hotel itself is located in a semi-industrial/semi-commercial strip, that is close to downtown. We had a "nice view" of walmart and some other unremarkable stores.

This is an "extended stay" type place. This means it only gets serviced once a week. However, it seems as though when it is cleaned, it is not very thorough. Although the bed linens were clean, the rest of the room seemed less than clean. If not for the dry climate, this place would have been moldy for sure.

Also noticed that although the room was non-smoking (and it seemed as if most rooms also were non-smoking), the building did smell of smoke throughout, including in the room.

They allow pets to stay in the room. I think there was cat dander in our room since I kept sneezing in the room (and was fine elsewhere). Not exactly a feature...

Desk staff was not the most pleasant, but this is apparently on par with local standards.

Budget permitting, I would choose to stay somewhere else next time.

We only stayed for one night but that was enough. We requested a non-smoking room but the smell of smoke was was always a lingering scent. There was hair on the bathroom floor, the sink didn't drain well and the toilet bowl was unclean. The bed was pushed so close to the wall that you had to get in on the other side. The recliner had stains on the fabric and was worn looking. We didn't use the kitched area so I can't comment on that. With a decent cleaning this hotel would be okay.

We chose Candlewood Suites because we had a great low price offer. We are sure glad we did. The studio suite had a complete kitchen-even a dishwasher. We stayed 3 days so we prepared several meals. There was a large desk with free Internet access. The TV had a DVD and VCR with free movies available at the front desk. The laundry room had free machines. There was a convenience store with reasonable prices right in the hotel, and free regular and decaf coffee 24 hours a day. There was a workout room with equipment in excellent condition. The bed had a great mattress and pillows, and the bathroom was large. There was also a Lazy Boy recliner in the room. Everything was in tip-top condition and the decor was pleasant. The location was great, near the intersection of the 2 major freeways, but not close enough to hear the traffic. We were in walking distance to a shopping center and several restaurants. We walked to the Wal-Mart Supercenter to buy our food and several things we forgot.
