Scalo features many classic North Italian dishes, but many with a touch of originality or creativity. Mussels in garlic and wine sauce is a mainstay. But at Scalo, a bit of cheese makes it stand out above the norm. The mussels themselves were plump and tasty
I had the short ribs as my main course. The sauce, the preparation and the presentation were again excellent. The meat was extremely tender but not the highest quality meat. My wife had the salmon special of the day, and it was top quality.
The budino custard rounded out a very satisfying meal.
The wine selection is good.
We were in a little bit of a hurry for what should be a relaxing location for a dinner. We told our server, Ricardo S., and he accommodated us perfectly.
