Amazing food and very pleasant staff. Sit down for dinner or take out in the bakery. Fresh spring roles and Banh Mi sandwiches.

Le Bistro opened recently just north of Lomas Blvd NE on San Pedro. Three of us went. We were all pleasantly surprised by how nice the sit down portion of the restaurant was, given it's location in a utilitarian looking strip mall on the west side of San Pedro. We ordered a salad, pho, and a vermicelli bowl. All of us liked the grilled chicken vermicelli bowl best. I was very happy with Le Bistro and also pleased that they also have a to go room with Banh mi (sandwiches) etc. Prices were about $7 for sandwiches, $8 or $9 for the vermicelli bowls with grilled meats, up to $11 or $12 for some of the dishes in the sit down room. Protein options were grilled pork, chicken, shrimp or beef, roasted pork, pork sausage, fish, egg, and tofu. Not sure this rises to a destination restaurant, but if you're in the neighborhood and want lots of fresh veggies with grilled protein and light sauces, this is perfect.

I know this is unfair, but our standard is a Vietnamese restaurant we went to in Bangkok. The food in this restaurant reminded us very much of the former. Our server was Vietnamese, but born here and spoke excellent English. Service was great. Not many patrons when we went and the a/c was a little sluggish during a particularly hot spell. Lots of heat in our chicken with lemongrass! The spring rolls were quite tasty. Excellent iced tea. I was hoping to look at some of their baked goods but they had all been sold. There's a more formal dining room and a separate area for the bakery and fresh made sandwiches, a nice combination. We'll return when it gets cooler, as our server was recommending the soups.

Poor air conditioning but tasty food. Have not had such good Lemongrass Chicken for many years. Tasty Springs Rolls wrapped in rice paper. Outstanding service. Very reasonable prices. Lots of tables. Parking right out front.

The food was good, not great. The A/C was not working or not turned on/up, which made a very uncomfortable lunch time. We may try again with they get the knots undone or the weather changes.
