“The Breakfast Burrito and green chili was so good I went back the next day!”

I decided to try the Range when I was in town on business. I didnt want to have fast food for breakfast, so I stopped in at the Range. I was pleased with the Breakfast burrito. It was large, and the green chili they smothered it with was excellent. Both visits to the Range were good, though I wished I had gotten more green chili on my burrito the 2nd time around. I will go back the next time im in town on business!

This isn't the type of place I would normally visit. 1) I don't like restaurants that you have to wait to be seated. 2) I don't like restaurants without enough parking for the tables. 3) I don't like restaurants that are so noisy that you can't hear people at your table. 4) I am not fond of "trendy" places. 5) I think $10 for two eggs, an English muffin and coffee is too expensive.
There are plenty of really great restaurants in Albuquerque, where you can walk in the door, and a waitress greets you with a couple of menus, and says "sit anywhere you like". "How many in your party" is secret restaurant code for "you will have to wait". My "date" suggested the place, and suggested 9:30 on Sunday. Personally, I like to eat earlier, especially on weekends to avoid the waiting game. While we waited, pretty-much everyone was discussing the parking. Some said "we parked at the hotel next door", or "thank god we came 4 in a car", or We had to park up the street". I opted for the "up the street" answer. Virtually every place on the street was littered with broken car window glass -- a very bad sign. The wait wasn't too bad, and we were ushered to a table in the corner. The waitress brought coffee right away, and it was good and strong - 1 vote, it tasted good- another vote, and it wasn't that burnt crap you get at typical trendy spots - another vote. Both of us had to shout to be heard by each other, it wasn't at all enjoyable. We both ordered 2 eggs, and English muffin (mine had green chile). Note to visitors to New Mexico, green chile is appropriate on everything but German chocolate cake. A restaurant in New Mexico with crappy green chile will have a parking lot full of out-of-state license plates. I was delightfully surprised. My eggs were perfect, and so were hers, and the green chile was perfect. My brother and I worked in a similar restaurant with a Sunday mob, and it takes a damned good kitchen to get it right under such conditions.
4 stars, because the food and the service were good.
Never cut an English muffin - break it, or split it with a fork.
I'll likely never go back. There are hundreds of places with good food, without all the negatives. An old (and wise) restaurant manager once told me that the secret to a profitable restaurant is to serve good food, and to keep raising the prices as long as your seats are full on Sunday morning.
