My office has our Christmas party at the Backburner every year and we are never disappointed. This year, I had the grouper with lump crab meat and hollandaise sauce. DELICIOUS! The lobster bisque soup was rich and creamy as it should be. We loved the desserts but the favorite was the dulce leche. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a group or just an intimate date. It is local and exquisite.

A good French restaurant of the seafood in the residential area a little contrary from downtown. The waitress is quite friendly, and service is wonderful. An appetizer and a main dish were very good, and meat and fish were the very good taste.Everything was satisfied with volume perfection.

Their portions are generous, and service is prompt and good. The coffee, a south american blend is quite good.
We started with the smoked salmon. It was OK, but insufficiently smoked. You could barely taste the flavor of the wood. I don't know whether they do it themselves or buy it smoked. In any case it was unsatisfactory.
We ordered the seafood trio. Scallops and shrimp were good but the trout was overcooked. I guess somebody was distracted while the fish was cooking!
The herb encrusted lamb was a major disappointment. The herbs, which tasted only of parsley and mint, was slapped onto a side of the plate rather coat the lamb. Traditionally, there should be rosemary and thyme. A picture of the dinner plate is attached. For comparison, there is also a photo of a plate of herb encrusted lamb served in a restaurant in Montmartre, Paris.
All in all, it does not live up to the reputation of a good French restaurant. They can and should improve.

After much thought, we decided on Backburner for a very special wedding anniversary - our 25th. Wishing we had not. I guess you should not just expect a restaurant to treat an occasion as special, but we thought they might so we were disappointed. Also, our server was not as attentive as you would think a server would be when you are spending $200 on dinner. The server never mentioned anything until the end when he brought out a piece of cake on the house and briefly said for your anniversary. The cake was appreciated. We did not expect a celebration just maybe a little more attentive to us....we feel like we got less attention than normal. The food was good so giving a 4 star rating but if based on the experience itself would have given a 2.

Lobster night on Thursday was so good. Lobster bisque was great. Salmon appetizer was prepared right on the money. Our server was very kind. Price was as expected. Clean bathrooms. We will be back
