The view from the window and ledge is beautiful. We had a wedding down at Milones which was a minute drive so we stayed the weekend here. The Villa was beautifully situated and had a homely feeling. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast basket was a treat. And the owner Ray was a nice man to talk to. If I would go again I would definitely stay here. Spectacular!

On arrival we were made to feel more like friends than guests. Once you get into the villa, where you find a comfortable bed, kitchenette, lounge and dining table , as well as a fire, (which was not needed in March) you then note the view - amazing.

OK, this place is a little outside the main area of the wineries, buy hey, it's a small price to pay for peace and the most amazing view available.

If you enter via Ray's back gate, don't forget your oxygen mask!

Truly delightful, and whie you are there, try the Bimbadeen Shiraz 2010. A typical andtraditional Hunter Red

Lovely views, Ray was very friendly and helpful but we were a little disappointed with the accommodation, just not enough attention to detail. Bed was missing wheel stoppers, marks on coffee table which looked like rings from glasses/mugs, just needs a thoroughly good spring clean and then to be maintained. I know that Ray is a "one man band" but it wouldn't take much to blow the leaves out from the entrance foyer before guests arrive. Not quite up to standard.

We purchased a Living Social voucher for a midweek 3 night stay. Booking was easy and contact prior to arrival was informative and polite. Ray is a good host and makes a very good Shiraz. Situated high on Mount View, it commands a 270 deg view of the lower Hunter Valley overlooking Cessnock. We were in unit 4. The bay window allowed a fantastic view over the valley and Cessnock, (the actual seat could be another 10 cms wider for a comfortable seat). The deck got the morning sun, would be great in the winter, but it got very hot quickly (it was almost summer). The queen bed was very comfortable but needed a wider selection of pillows. The spa bath (for 2) was great, and had a fantastic view also. Unfortunately some of the furnishings are a let down. They are old and need replacing and be matching. The only lounge is a sofa bed and is not comfortable for relaxing on. The kitchenette is small and basic, but adequate for short stays. The complimentary brekkie basket is basic but nice. We would return.

After reading all the reviews I was really excited and thought my money was well spent... Was a bit of a let down after leaving in itchy bites

Pros
- amazing views
- spa bath
- nice fire
- comfortable bed
- good location

Cons
- Tiny tv
- Me and my partner both left covered in bites, which I can only assume came from the bed as it was winter and no doors were left opened and we were long sleeves/pants always outdoors.
- there was a large stain on the fold out couch
- my breakfast basket came with an apple that was rotten on the inside
