Andaz is a newer hotel in Wailea, and the design is clean, modern and classy. It is definitely an upscale experience, from the quietly majestic entrance to the open layout lobby allowing the Maui breeze in, to the guest rooms, fitness center, spa, poolside service, beachside service, on site restaurants and deli, and on and on. We loved walking on the beach, walking along the beach path through private property and along other resorts, and walking to Shops at Wailea and other area restaurants. Of course, you can get a ride with the hotel. They can take care of everything. We just loved being outside as much as possible, and are big walkers at home, too. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and that makes such a big difference when strolling about the property. We had a great photo taken by their photographer who made us feel like we were in a movie. Peace and abundance together - an amazing vacation.

Staying at the Andaz is Maui is a wonderful experience! The pool area probably rates as the most favorite of any place we have ever stayed although the beach area shouldn't be missed either. Loved the staff and the attention to detail.

We chose the Andaz over the other Maui hotels after a friend recommended it to us, plus its smaller than the other chain hotels in Wailea, and therefore more appealing to us. I read TripAdvisor alot and I was so excited at staying here after reading good review after good review.
On arrival we gave our name to the Bellboy and from then on everytime we went to reception they greeted me by my name (still don't know how they remembered it every time!). We had booked a room with an Ocean View, and after the first room we were allocated wasn't quite the Ocean View I was thinking it would be, we were moved rooms on the second day without any problems, even with it being Thanksgiving.
We spent 5 very lazy days at the Hotel, relaxing by the pool, drinking cocktails, eating our way through the poolside menu! Utter Bliss!
Whilst as others have also said, food is expensive, both restaurants were very good. The Japanese restaurant did the best donuts for desert, so good we tried to order them in one of the other restaurants the following day, but sadly it was not possible :-(
One Tip for those who maybe don't like to spend $45 for breakfast each day, there is a 24hr Deli / Shop within the Hotel, serving coffee, bagels, salads, sandwiches etc...we bought our breakfast / lunch most days here...plus if you don't want to eat the pool food menu, you had some nice options for light bites / healthier food here - can thoroughly recommend checking it out.
There is a lovely beach walk that takes you past all the hotels (and with the Andaz being the last hotel you have slightly more privacy than the others on the beachfront). You can easily hire snorkeling gear, SUP equipment etc, but at a cost....I thought $100 for an hour of SUP a little expensive, but it seemed the going rate everywhere.
All in all, the location, hotel and facilities were great...exactly what you'd expect from a 5* Hotel. Yes, it's expense, but if you are going to treat yourself, treat yourself to the Andaz, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Save money and book the lower category rooms (garden) You'll not be spending that much time in your room anyway.

Short and sweet this was one of the best hotel experiences I have had in a long time. The 4 Seasons has got nothing on the Andaz. The staff was great and all go out of their way every day to smile, help, and take a genuine interest in you. After 4 days 2-3 staff were calling me and my girlfriend by our 1st names. It was amazing. The hotel is chic and cool. Very hip, very fun.
