When we booked we assumed we would stay in a antebellum house. If you look at the pictures on website you get this expression, which is wrong.
You only fetch the keys in the house but stay accross the street in a simple cottage. Wifi was not available in our room, we had to go outside. The garden was run down. For Breakfast you have to take the car to nearby restaurant.

Wouldnt it be for the free tour of Dumleith I would even give only 1 star.

The minute you drive onto the property you feel relaxed as you admire the beautiful old growth oak trees, the lush and diverse flora and fauna, and the calming spirit the owners have created for their guests. This place is truly idyllic. The rooms are expansive, comfortable and clean, with additional amenities such as mini fridges and keurigs. The veranda outside of our room, replete with comfy rocking chairs and serene views, made it hard for us to make our dinner reservation on time. The best thing is the owner - Regina Charbonneau - native daughter who is a world renowned chef and owned a San Francisco restaurant before returning to her roots and establishing this remarkable landmark.

Room Tip: Rooms 1and 6 are terrific

If I was the owner of Twin Oaks I would be ashamed to rent the room we stayed in. It was extremely dirty. The floors had not be cleaned in a very long time, there was medicine pills on the floor beside the bed and a dirty q-tip swap on the bathroom floor. The shower even had hair on the walls and the shower door would not stay closed. The toilet had not been cleaned. In the siting room kitchenette area mold was growing around the sink. The coffee pot had a used filter. The little refrigerator had about 4 inches of ice in the freezer section. The rug was very dirty, everything needed vacuuming, dusting or a good washing. The only thing that appeared clean were the sheets and towels. We had to go across the street to another B&B for breakfast. Twin Oaks does not qualify as a B&B. I could go on and on but I am out of room.

Room Tip: Look at another B&B don't stay here.

The room was in a cottage on the property ~ quite lovely and spacious, well appointed furniture and all necessities. Nice kitchenette with coffee and teas. Comfortable bed and relaxing large bathroom. The stay was perfectly serene and relaxing - just what we needed. The owners were so gracious - especially to invite us for cocktails at their family & friends New Years Eve Party which we really enjoyed. The house was decked out for Christmas. The huge & tall real Christmas tree was a treat for the eyes. The Veuve Clicquot champagne was not to be spared and was generously offered as i enjoyed 2-3 glasses of the bubbly. We appreciated nice conversations with their sons friends and an employee as well as the husband and his hearing of his incredible Rum business - which we would love to support! We really felt welcome and relaxed.

Chef Regina owns this delightful B+B and as president of the Garden Club and native of Natchez is THE authority on the homes and other attractions. If possible book a cooking class and tour her kitchen and home, sample her family’s rum (rated best in the USA) and maybe her famous biscuits. You’ll also receive the ultimate in dining advice for Natchez, New Orleans and beyond.
