“A beatiful home in a wood paradise”
Review of Elms Court

Reviewed 24 April 2017

Elms Court is a beautiful home located a short distance from downtown Natchez. It is located o a large tract of land a the end of a winding road through a forest loaded with seasonal flowers. This home was open for Spring Pilgrimage days. The frontal view of this home appears to be a Mediterranean villa. It has beautiful iron grill work across the entrance. The furnishings and decor of this home is remarkably beautiful. The woodland setting and grounds are very well worth a visit during Pilgrimage days in Natchz.

The home is lived in by the owners. It has been in the family for many generations. The Elms Court Estate cannot be seem from the roadway. There is a very long - tree and flower lined - winding driveway, before you see the home. Inside you might see a very large (at least 46 by 56) and very old (possibly an original) map “Depicting Plantations on the Mississippi River from Natchez to New Orleans, 1858”. The furniture and paintings it seems are from the late 1700s and early 1800s (Pre-civil war), mixed with more current photos of the owners. The opulence of a Planter’s City Estate and its garden is highly educational and interesting. Be careful while driving, do not miss the entrance driveway which is surrounded by plant life.
