The museum is so expensive, we had our entire family 8 people and decided to do something else for the money.

Hello, thank you for leaving your comment. We are truly sorry that you found our museum to be too expensive. We are a privately funded museum, and we are up and running due to the admission we charge. Without the admission charge, The Gutzon Borglum Story would simply not be here. We do offer many discounts including a Family rate, Parking discount, and Senior rates, and are sorry if these discounts were not offered to you at the time of your visit. We do strive to make your experience enjoyable and affordable and we are again truly sorry.

This is not worth the stop. There are a few statues you can see.
The film tells about Mount Rushmore but you can see the free film at
Mount Rushmore and get as much information.
Not worth the extra stop unless you have time to kill.

Hello, we are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy our museum. We strive to offer a wide range of information regarding Gutzon Borglum and his works. Our main goal is to inform visitors of the man who carved Mt. Rushmore, not of the mountain itself, and therefore are separate from the National Monument. We do appreciate your comment , and we hope that your trip to Keystone was more than enjoyable.

It was a nice stop, nice place with a lot of information about Borglum. There were statues, drawings and paintings of his. A lot of information about him. I did not know anything about him. It was an old place and you could not take pictures. It was a nice stop before entering the park and viewing Mount Rushmore.

The historical center reveals the background for Mount Rushmore as well as how it was created. You do an audio self-tour. You can take as much time as desired. Only disappointing thing was no photography. There was also a gift shop.

This sets back from the road a bit just past the wood sculptures. Full of history and great information to make more of your visit to the area. Def. worth the stop and admission.
