Check in easy. The guy on reception was not helpful. He did not advice food times, wifi or even how to find the room.
Wifi was poor so I just used my 3G. Could do with net curtains up for privacy as the is a big tower block opposite. There is road noise at busy times. The shower was powerful but no hot water in the morning, it is also difficult to reach the taps because of the shower screen. Free parking. This hotel needs some tlc.

We went to Airdrie to enjoy a large family christening. Several families had booked into the Mondo hotel for the event having travelled from across the UK and Ireland.

My partner and I plus her two boys stayed in two rooms, one club superior double and the second a twin. The rooms were as functional as a Travelodge but were very cramped. We did have good nights sleep both nights in the comfortable bed.

On our first night, we ate simple, quick meals in the restaurant and did enjoy really the good food: fish n chips, chicken burger, smoked salmon, etc. The second night's meal was not in the hotel.

Simple things however, do spoil the stay and can put people off repeat bookings:
The shower head was filthy with a build up of limescale that does need cleaning properly.
Apparently, the hotel has just introduced a buffet breakfast instead of individual meals but the whole buffet breakfast thing needs reassessing. On the first day, there was limited food, burnt bacon, stale bread and no cheese or hams.
On the second day, there were no sausages, no bacon, no eggs, no tomatoes, no bread, and no beans. Furthermore, there were no dinner plates, no side plates, no mugs and no juice glasses.
There was only one member of staff on duty and we were advised we couldn't sit at any clean tables - it reminded me of a sketch from Fawlty Towers. She was not pleasant to the customers who were forced to wait 20 minutes for a buffet breakfast.

All in all, the good points were marred by the very poor service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We visited Coatbridge for a friends birthday and booked into this hotel. The town is depressing and this building looks nothing externally although internally it is an improvement. There is free parking but I was required to squeeze my car into the tightest of spaces and had to get out the passenger side as there was a metal barrier running around the wall. There is other parking but I'm not sure how you access that.

The receptionist was charming and helpful. We went up to our room in a lift, which felt like taking your life in your hands, for the rest of the stay we used the stairs. Indeed, the lift is padded with a carpet like material, it was strange.

The room we were allocated was nice but small, as was the bed. As a result we upgraded for £10 more to a grand room with a bigger bed. It was comfortable enough and there was complimentary bottles of water. The furnishings were modern. Given the area, this was a good room and better than we have had in many other places. The noise from the street as the pubs and clubs spilled out however was really loud and quite a distraction.

We didn't have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was busy. We did however have breakfast. It cost £17.80 for 2 but wasn't anything to write home about. It was totally buffet style and there wasn't much to choose from. Moreover, the restaurant hadn't been cleaned from the night before and the carpet was dirty. To be fair, the cleaner had just started and had the vacuum going constantly whilst we ate.

If you have to come to Coatbridge this is a reasonable place to stay. My tip, avoid Coatbridge.

1 night stay on Saturday, Check in fine stayed in room 201 twin room lovely clean room all facilities were spot on. Hotel was very busy but apparently it is used by he holiday company's from Ireland who tour the scottish islands as a last night stop over due to its location to be able to get back to the ferry port to return to Ireland.Dis not eat there but the restaurant was busy , but this might be as there was a coach party in who were all eating. There is a wetherspoons pub over the road which is reasonably priced and serves food till late and a pizza shop that is open till 02:00am.All staff very friendly and I would not hesitate t use this hotel again,
