I have stayed here several times now.

The hotel is in an attractive setting. You can see it as you drive along the M6, and it is just out of a small village, next to the canal with its own lake.

Rooms are generally OK. I find the best ones are on the 1st floor, away from the M6. I stayed in 1 once where the window would not shut properly and it leaked in noise.

Building works are going on to build new additional rooms.

Staff and check in is generally fine.
Bar is nice, good service.

Breakfast has always been good, nice cooked items, sometimes service can be slow.

Quite a good choice to stop at in this part of the world.

Rooms are very nicely done and the bathrooms are also good. The hotel is in an attractive setting, and althougn the motorway is very close, at least in the winter we weren't disturbed by the noise.
The bar food is very good, and there is a reasonable wine list too. We didn't try the restaurant until Saturday, and on Saturday nights you are required to have a five course meal at a fixed price - which we found a bit much to cope with. The food seems very rich, in that French tradition - but very well done and nicely presented.
The dining room is attractive - overlooking the canal - but as it is a conservatory room, the sound proofing isn't great and we found it very noisy (particularly as the hotel is evidently popular with large groups celebrating, so there were a lot of tables of 6-8 shouting at each other.) Breakfast on Sunday is a hot and cold buffet, other days it is waiter serviced. Consequently it was difficult to get service for tea and coffee on Sunday. But Saturday morning was very pleaant, and it is nice to sit and watch the local water fowl wait for the crumbs that the staff share with them at the end of the sitting.

Our trip was marred by a water main bursting in the village leaving the hotel with no water, and a fire alarm going off at 2.30 which the night staff did not deal with well. However, we did get a letter of apology from the hotel manager.

Small comfortabloe well appointed hotel with large conference and banquesting facilities. Stayed o/night. In comfortable large room with big bathroom. Dinner very nice (portions to big for me). Full English Breakfast deliscious and set me up for the day. Lovely setting next to a picturesque English canal. Walking along the banks was a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

Conference of over 200 delegates was handled very well. Everything needed available, buffet lunch was hot and tasty with plenty available. Table never ran short of food.

Overall a very nice 24 hours.

looked nice, but the bar and restaurant staff never raised a smile.room was ok but not worth £115 per night. bar staff would rather chat between themselfs than serve. also there was never enought seats for the guests of the wedding which i was attending. at the the wedding breakfast we were cramed into a little room where waiting staff couldn't reach the other side of the table because tables were so close together, so i found myself passing meals to other guests, also in this room the fire exit was blocked to accomadate another table.at breakfast waiting staff ignored us again and we continually had to ask for tea/coffee and toast. i'm sorry to have to write this because i was attending a freinds wedding but i would say to others thinking of staying here try crewe hall up the road, much better service, history, food and its cheaper! p.s if anyone from the moat house is reading this try giving vegetarians an option!!!!!!!

Perfect central location by banks of River Avon and 5 mins walk to the Royal Shakespear Theatre. Warm and friendly staff, always on hand to help. Rooms good standard. Good leisure centre. Enjoyed our stay, look forward to returning back in the future.
