We were only staying for three nights. We were very jet-lagged and the wonderful staff let us in to our room early. The room was small, but just what we needed. Clean and tidy. The staff were helpful, and friendly. As well as the parking outside the rooms, which can get taken by pub customers, there is also parking around the back.

We were staying with friends in Bishop Stortford at the weekend and popped into this pub for a drink late afternoon.

The pub was very quiet but we received a warm welcome from the barman. We ordered two pints and two double Gin and tonics and we were charged £27! However our gins had a very unpleasant smell about them. At first we thought the tonic was off or perhaps the ice? anyway the gin was most definitely not Bombay Sapphire as requested, so not sure what was in the bottle!? very strange!

Basic accommodation in a "lodge" style beside the pub. Helpful pleasant landlord. Adequate room with a bathroom and excellent shower. Very clean which is what you want. Only a short walk to pubs and restaurants.
Some road noise in the morning but not a problem at night. Overall very good value for a cheap price for the area. Recommended.

Room Tip: there is additional parking out the back.

We went to Bishops Stortford to watch a band in the near by arts complex. We choose the Jolly brewer as it was in a great location for the town centre. The room was basic but clean with everything you need like tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobes, T.V and shower room. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. The only slight issue is that the car park is small. That being said we got a space OK so hopefully won't be a problem for anyone else. I'd definitely recommend this place.

We stayed here for a night before our early morning flight from Stansted Airport. The rooms are basic but clean, comfortable and have everything you need and if you need anything else you only have to ask. No food served at the pub but only a short walk into town. We will stay again if flying from Stansted.
