Was grand now fading. Almost a residential home so many elderly hand sanitizers everywhere. Receptionist was staggeringly unwelcoming. Bingo and gold lamé crooners. We couldn’t get into dinner as it was packed out with very old people.

We stayed one night in what used to obviously be a very grand hotel. The bedroom was comfortable and a good temperature. The bathroom was cramped but the shower was excellent and the toiletries nice. Coffee in the room was horrible and anything not run of the mill has to be ordered in advance ( had no soya milk), same goes for restaurant - no veggie option unless pre ordered. Restaurant menu is very traditional and clearly geared for large parties of older people however service is very quick and the staff are polite. Very well placed and absolutely central to Cromer.

We turned up in Cromer at 7.30 pm looking for a hotel and chanced upon the Hotel De Paris and luckily they had a room for £86 inc breakfast.
It was a large twin room overlooking the pier and we could not have been happier with the location, the room, the beds, the breakfast and the staff in fact the hotel was delightful.
Cant say as there is much to draw me back to Cromer but if i ever happen to return, i would be more than happy to stay at the hotel again.

We chose to book here having seen the hotel featured on the "Coast" TV programme. In it's heyday this was the place of choice of film stars. Things haven't changed much since the 1920's with beautiful period decor and architectural features inside and out. So often hotels like this have become shabby and dated but this certainly isn't the case here. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The client group mostly catered for were older than average, and also coach tours but this didn't detract from our experience. Breakfast was decent although the service was a little slow. We chose to eat out for the evening meal as the choice in the restaurant was traditional and limited, but seemed good value at £12 for a 3 course meal. The room was smallish but immaculate with new furniture that was in keeping with the period of the hotel and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also very clean with a lovely powerful shower - my guess is that it had recently been refurbished as the tiling was pristine.

Location of the hotel was ideal, directly above the pier. Cromer is small so we were able to walk around the town as well as a decent walk along the seafront. They were not kidding when they advised us that parking was limited - 11 cars shoehorned into the space out the front of the hotel, however we did manage to park there despite arriving around 4.15pm, and there did seem to be street parking quite close if you failed to park.

This is a hotel we will return to when next visiting Norfolk!

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room - others look out onto narrow streets and buildings opposite.

Just returned from a long weekend. Mixed bag of feelings:
Good points - huge room, comfortable beds, warm, lovely view (we had a sea view overlooking the pier), fairly quiet, great shower, staff were friendly in the dining room, central location.
Bad points - staff smoking in the entrance so had to walk through smoke to get in. Car park very small and tight with staff cars parked there so guests had to try and find somewhere else to park, Reception staff not particularly friendly, food in dining room ok but already prepared and came out like a ‘conveyor belt’ as such a small time frame window to eat in ( I think they were catering for the coach parties)
General ‘tired’ feeling to the hotel. I expect it was very grand in its time. With a few adjustments it could be again!
