We had a room booked for December 21, 2020 at the Comfort Inn (another property down the road). We arrived at the Comfort Inn around 8PM to an empty parking lot. Turns out they had been shut down for the past 4 months by the county health department. I never experienced anything like that --- I stay at about 100 hotels per night due to my work and am Diamond Level with Choice Hotels.
Anyway, the only other chain hotel at the exit was the Days Inn. They were very helpful in getting us a room as a late night walk-in... and not charging us an arm and a leg, which they could have given we were in a bad predicament.
Nice and clean rooms at the Days Inn -- no complaints.
Hotel is very convenient to the Montezuma Castle National Monument which we hit the next morning on our national parks tour of Arizona.
AVOID THE COMFORT INN IN CAMP VERDE AND STAY HERE,... Not sure what was going on there, but must be serious if they were closed for months.
The manager mentioned that he was getting people coming in almost every night like we were --- as the Comfort Inn was/is taking reservations still on the closed property even though they know it's shut down. What a shame.
Atleast I am doing my part in telling you to stay here and do not book the Comfort.More
