We stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The location is picturesque & very tranquil. Our room was okay, nothing special but the food was the worst we have had in a hotel in many years. We had a meal deal with Weekendesk, not realising we would have no choice about the evening meal. We didn't need a menu, we were told what we would be eating ! It was okay but not our choice. God help vegetarians & vegans !
Breakfast was a disaster; We arrived 30 minutes before the end of breakfast time ( not late, we were not the last ) our table wasn't even set so we had to ask for cutlery. There was hardly any bread left, no cooked food at first, no glasses, no bowls, scraps of cheese and fruit and disgusting coffee. Nothing was replenished. The worse thing was when the waiter finally arrived with fried eggs. He tipped them all into a container one on top of the other in a congealed lump. The young waiter looked bored and disinterested. He could not cope.
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago but it hasn't improved. They need a good restaurant manager, experienced chef and smiling waiters. It's a pity as the location is wonderful. More
