Cracker Barrel restaurants offer a country atmosphere, a country store worth exploring, great biscuits and lousy corn muffins, small tables and quick service . Their country ham and maple-cured-is-it bacon are different but not my favorites . Various dishes are good but not excellent :
Chicken and dumplings, catfish, hamburger steak etc. Prices are average or higher .
This visit, the service was great . When it is busy , if you dawdle to converse after eating, expect to rushed along at any Cracker Barrel . They discourage splitting a meal to save money too...
In winter, the fireplace is a real treat and I like the old time country music .
