We stayed one night on our Camino walk. Very friendly staff, spacious rooms, lovely old fashioned service. A quaint Hotel, centrally located with lots of charm. Our room was on the second floor which has very spacious alongwith a spacious bathroom. Window opened into internal courtyard, great for drying underwear overnight. A popular place for drinks and nibbles but ate dinner elsewhere. Breakfast was served in the dining area late for walkers, but it was worth the wait and set us up for the huge walk the next day. A vibrant town, watched a local band in the square nearby. Very helpful with directions to a sports store.

We got a recommendation for thid hotel from another hotel along the nothern Biscaya-coast of Spain. Not without a reason. The hotel was excellent and the friendlyness and helpfullness of the lady in the reception was fantastic. We were three lady pilgrims walking along the northern coast and needed help with a lot of information. All this made us feel very welcome. I should really like to do a visit again!

Over night doing Camino del Norte. Large room and even larger bathroom whose window opened to main inside stairwell! Room window opened to large housing complex that was some what noisy.
Dinner taken in restaurant adjoining the hotel: flat beans & ham (local speciality) then Navajas, yogurt--all delicious...especially nice to have fresh beans.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Carlos I for one night. Our room was great, big, clean and romantic. The receptionist is very friendly and attentive. Location is fantastic. Not sure about car park but plenty of spaces outside the hotel and free or charge.
The restaurant at the hotel is amazing, our waitress was friendly, attentive and it was lovely to chat with her, very good quality of food and cheap!. We highly recommend the hotel and restaurant.

Room tip: second floor is good

I stayed here recently while walking the Camino del Norte and I I was immediately impressed by the friendliness of the staff of this family run establishment. The hotel is in a beautiful building with landings on each floor decorated with antiques and objets d'art. I particularly enjoyed browsing through the wonderful collection of coffee table books, many on the subject of art or the Camino. The staff did everything to make us comfortable. Breakfast is served quite late, and we needed to leave early, so late in the evening our hostess brought us a vacuum flask of freshly brewed coffee, bread and butter and jam, fruit juice and fresh fruit. The coffee was still hot when we drank it the next morning. The hotel is in an excellent central location and I cannot praise it highly enough.
