Stopped by for lunch with a friend while visiting the area. Get there early for lunch before the lines begin! We both had the fried clam platter which was fantastic. These are not fried clam strips but fried clams with great taste. Served with French fries and Cole slaw. We ate inside but the have nice tables set up by the river for outside dining.

We went here for ice cream one night while visiting Woodstock. Delicious ice cream and a pretty spot on the river to enjoy it by.

Food was delicious! The onion rings perfectly cooked and crispy, the clams were absolutely wonderful and their tartar sauce was the perfect compliment. The view alone was just perfect!

I was anxious to try the White Cottage clam strips but after 2 or 3 bites I told myself that they were not worth the calories. The chewy, generic and overcooked strips were a real disappointment. However, the coffee milkshake was a real winner. Thick just the way I like it and very flavorful. I'll go back for the ice cream but head to Weathervane for their delicious and perfectly cooked clam strips.

Some items were good, others not so good. They feature Fried Clams on their sign so it might be assumed that they know how to cook fried clams. NOT SO! The breading was so crisp that it overpowered the flavor of the real clams (with bellies). Probably okay breading for clam strips. Lobster rolls, french fries, cole slaw, and onion rings all were very good. Scallops on the other hand were also a disappointment. Very small and mostly breading.
