A really wonderful hidden jewel in the middle of nowhere, yet in the middle of everywhere. Nestled in the beautiful Vermont woods in the quaint village of Woodstock Vermont you will find a classy respite from the hustle and bustle with the perfect touch of old school luxury and up to the minute pampered indulgences. Fantastic spa, beautiful setting, filled with taste and perfectly cordinated antiques. Get the spacious Lawrence Rockefeller Suite if want pure class and don't mind spending a few bucks. Be prepared to let time be your best friend.

Room Tip: Get the Lawerence Rockefeller Suite if you can afford it.

Thank you for your very kind words about our resort; “the prettiest small town in America;” and of course our newly renovated Laurance Rockefeller Suite!

When we refurbished all 142 guest rooms over the past year, our focus was on creating a variety of rom options with all manner of amenities to suit every taste, including ten over-sized “Collection Rooms,” each with its own theme and story! The LSR Suite is our flagship suite, of course, but every room expresses Mr. Rockefeller’s love of nature and historic preservation.

We look forward to welcoming you “home” to Woodstock again soon, and sharing more of what makes our village and our property so special!

Best wishes,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

The Woodstock Inn delivers perfection. The staff truly want to make your stay comfortable and amazing. The rooms are old world charm, with modern amenities. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Walkability to local shops and old town from the Inn, an easy stroll. Amenities include: On site spa, dining, cocktails, afternoon tea, games room, golf and recreation opportunities available. The breakfast offered at the Inn, is also incredible and a great way to start the day or end your last morning experience (thank you Prince). The Woodstock Inn, is the only place to stay. Thank you once again for a memorable experience.

Thank you for staying with us recently and sharing this very favorable report, highlighting the balance we strike between “old world charm” and modern amenities. We are an unashamedly traditional resort and as such work hard and consistently to maintain balance between traditional and contemporary; and it’s always heartening when our guests tell us we’re succeeding!

I’m especially happy to learn you felt our staff truly wanted to make your day and your stay comfortable, and we’ll be sure to give Prince a little pat on the back for his special service. As Prince often says, we’re lucky to work in Hospitality and work with “guests” rather than just “customers!”

We look forward to many more rewarding visits to Woodstock and sharing even more of our amazing amenities and activities with you. Please do give us a call so we can help you plan your next adventure!

Very truly yours,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

Overall satisfaction was graded a 6 because of one unfortunate event. On site dinner was fantastic, the pool was amazing and your staff was professional and accommodating...for the most part. Not certain if the team member needs more training or if she was following protocol. After a fantastic day we returned to our Tavern Suite to find a bottle of champagne and chocolates; we were thrilled until I noticed the name on the card was not addressed to us. I immediately phoned the front desk to inform your team of the oversight on your part as the champagne, chocolates and card was not addressed to our family. Your team member without explaining and without offering an apology quickly removed the gift that was placed in our room in error. The champagne cost your Inn $25 and the candy $10. We enjoyed your Inn for $700. plus for each night and because of this event I am uncertain if I would recommend our Inn. Empowering your employees to address the in- house error and offer the gift as an apology to to remain in the room was not even a thought of your team member. Thank you.

Thank you for staying with us on one of our beautiful “Tavern Wing” suites last weekend and sharing some of your recollections of the weekend.

I was very happy to see that you enjoyed your dinners in The Red Rooster and Richardson's Tavern, personal service at our outdoor pool, and interactions with many of our teammates. We consider ourselves fortunate to work with a team that really understands the difference between service and hospitality, and the importance of each!

Having said that, I am especially distressed to hear of the service breakdown you experienced and the way “we” responded. Without knowing who the employees involved were, I consider it my personal responsibility when we fail to equip our team to succeed, as is clearly the case here. Making every guest feel welcome and appreciated at every opportunity is something we stress with our team on a daily basis, and we clearly did not leave you with that impression.

I realize this will not alter your experience, but please know that we do appreciate your sharing and I do hope this unpleasant memory will fade with time and your warmer memories of your visit will rise to the surface. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you to Woodstock again soon, and expend a far warmer and more memorable welcome!

Very truly yours,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

Thank you so much for visiting us in Woodstock recently and “taking the plunge” with our Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing School! We consider ourselves very fortunate to live in an area such as Vermont, where so many terrific outdoor opportunities abound, and we are always thrilled to have the chance to share them with our guests!

Thank you especially for the very kind words about the Fly-Fishing program and your instructor/guide Jeff in particular. Our team does a wonderful job and it is always gratifying to see them get he public praise they so richly deserve.

We hope we’ll see you again soon, and I encourage you to call our reservations team so we can describe some of the other new experiences (Falconry? Downhill mountain biking? Organic Gardening? Your very own custom-designed aromatherapy journey in The Spa?) you can taste while you’re here!

Thank you again!

The Woodstock Inn is the ideal spot to relax and enjoy the wonderful golf course. The experienced and very friendly staff make playing at the Woodstock Country Club very enjoyable and staying at the Inn is beyond compare

Room Tip: The Tavern rooms are worth the extra cost

Thank you for visiting for your recent golf getaway!

The Woodstock Country Club is a great course, and we’re proud to have been rated #1 in New England in a recent Golf Advisor poll! Our crew has maintained the course in terrific condition in spite of some very unusual weather this summer, and as always Matt Closter and his team in the clubhouse really and truly enjoy the game, the area, and sharing with all our guests. I am happy to learn that their love of golf and the resort shows through in their approach every day!

I hope you’ll be able to visit again this season: I’m sure you can imagine how beautiful the valley is during our fabled foliage season, and of course we’ll have our delicious fall menus in place in our restaurants and a hoist of other recreational opportunities that change with the seasons!

Please do give us a call so we can craft anther great getaway for you soon!

Warm regards,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager
