“Let's hope it doesn't change”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

ECG's owner is selling the restaurant to the employees and moving on. Let's hope they continue the fresh, inventive food we have come to expect. No reservations means a wait most nights, particularly weekends. They now have a parking agreement with a lot across the street, which fixes the other problem!

“Amazing pairings of flavors!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

A great must try! Started with Wellfleet oysters 6 (shared with our guest) they were great however, the amount of cocktail sauce was a tumble.I had Grilled Spice Crusted Mahi Mahi 24.50in “The Style of the Yucatan” with Rice ‘n Beans, Grilled Avocado,Pineapple Salsa & Fried Plantains. An explosing of tastes that all complimented easch other.I asked for additional hots as I am a hot lover.... received a habinaro sauce called "inner beauty" so hot it burned from deep inside... not going to ask for it again! My husband started with the creamy clam corn chowder it was smooth and full of great flavor! He had
Blck Pepper Crusted Grilled 16oz. NY Strip Steak 27.50 with blue cheese Butter, Rapini & mashed Sweet Potato with Blue Cheese... wow so tasty and the blue cheese on the potatoes ummmmmm. Yes my fork was trying it all! Our guest (fortunately close friend as I tasted his too) was served a great Grilled White Pepper Crusted Tuna* 27.50
with House Pickled Ginger, Aged Soy Sauce, Pacific Farms Fresh Wasabi,
Grilled Vegetables & Curried Vegetable Pickle. The tuna was done perfectly and was
delic! We started with pickled thin veggies and water. The room was full and somewhat loud as the open kitchen shared our space. Our server was nice but seemed to be over extended so the lapse between our needs and her availability were off. Wine was ok but sadly served in the small generic cafeteria grade glasses. Did not have dessert as it didn't appear to be their speciality and it was time to go. We parked across the street in a lot for the restaurant for five dollars well worth it. We will certainly be back as the menu is exciting!

“Hit or miss, but once you find a nitch just stick with it and you'll be happy!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2012

Lets get the cons out of the way: no reservations and it get full the minute the doors open! Parking is either street or lot (minimum $5) not bad but just annoying. Loud!! Very loud. A little pricey.

Pros: lively bar scene, great cocktails, and wonderful raw bar.

Pro and con: the food is hit and miss. I always get the raw oysters, and a pulled pork dinner which is fantastic. My husband has the brisket, also amazing. BUT, tried to change in up twice and the food was terrible. I mean awful. So, find what you like, get there early, and you'll be happy.

“love the pickles”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2012

I am not normally a pickle eater but these were sweet and nice. I asked how to make it and ended up with a whole book on pickles. The food was spot on and the service was good too.
