Description: The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. In crafting the restaurant's menu, owner Paul Overgaag and executive chef Marc Plourde have chosen to bring fresh organic foods and locally produced ingredients to center stage. In addition to our main dining room and bar-area, the Red House also contains three intimate private dining rooms which can comfortably seat between 8 and 14 guests. Perfect for your next family or business gathering, each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards and woodwork. Additionally, we are able to provide customized-set menus for private diners and events as needed.

I enjoyed sitting outdoors on the deck on a warm summer night; air conditioned indoor seating also available. My lobster chowder was excellent: plenty of tasty pieces with the right amount of cubed potato and a lovely creme sauce (not too pasty).

All washed down with a large pale ale, brand forgotten but well suggested by one of the bartenders -- is there such a thing as a beer sommelier?

Key lime pie was good but nothing to write home about -- too thin, too solid.

An interesting menu of farm fresh ingredients. The grilled octopus was as good as what we have in Astoria, NY. Delicious pasta. Good service on a brisk but busy early spring evening out on the patio. Table was tiny and wobbly but the ambience was worth it. I had oysters and found a tiny pearl!

Very nice restaurant with a rustic feel. Food was very tasty and well presented but a bit pricey for the portions served. Not necessarily a deal-breaker. Seems like a good place for a romantic dinner or a nice evening with friends.

Portion sizes are great, and the food was excellent. You MUST make a reservation, or you'll never get a seat. If you do make a reservation, you'll skip the huge line out front. Doesn't have the big portions of American Italian, but rather the smaller portions of true Italian.

Great spot, especially when they are running an oyster special, Dine inside or out. Get a dozen shucked in front of you at the bar. They usually have the Wellfleet oysters.
