During my one night stay at Hotel Skogar there was an intense storm that came by. It took out the power to the TV so I ventured out to their sauna. The wind was howling but it felt great to chill in the warmth. I stayed in a single with a twin bed and bathroom. The décor is out of date but homey. They staff wasn't Icelandic and somewhat friendly.
The breakfast the next morning was in the dinning area and it was a quaint environment.

We arrived at Hotel Skogar well after dark, and it was somewhat difficult to find. However, it was warm and inviting when we aqrrived and checked in to a lovely corner room with views of the waterfall.

Room tip: ask for the corner room with a view of the waterfall

Arriving with 4 clients we could have not been more welcomed. The rooms were very good and comfortable and the evening meal, whilst a little on the expensive side was very good. Excellent breakfast. All in all very nice. Our TV only has one channel - so a slight negative.

Room tip: Some rooms have a view of Skoga waterfall.

We enjoyed staying here for two nights of our 7-night honeymoon tour of Iceland. Of course Skògafoss is an amazing waterfall and hike, but the hotel itself is very sweet, with a calm ambiance and very nice restaurant. The room itself was nice, and the bathroom, though small, was equal to most Icelandic standards. There is a hot tub and sauna, but the hot tub was totally packed both nights so we didn’t get to try it. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and there were free coffee and pastries the whole time. Also, breakfast was included in the room price, which is a great value in Iceland.

This was our first night in Iceland and we were pleased with the facilities. The rooms were just big enough for the two of us and our luggage, and was very clean and tidy. You can walk over to the falls in about 7-10 minutes. The breakfast was good and filling.
