When on Route 66 you're almost obliged to stay here as the hotel is a small Route66 museum as well. The rooms are good, and the staff is friendly, but the hotel can use a renovation. Walking inside you get the idea that they started this renovation, but it also looks like this is the state it is in already for a long time.

We have stayed here a few times when we went to the Mother Road car show every September for the past few years, it is dated but was always clean, they have new management now, it didn't appear to be as clean this time but they are remodeling so we will give them another chance,

Since we're travelling Rt. 66, this hotel sounded like a good place to begin. It was NOT. It's an older hotel that could have been fixed up and made inviting, fun, part of the 66 experience. Instead it cuts corners everywhere. We had one water glass to share. Linens seemed old. Paint is chipped. And the rooms have no outside windows. HEAVY deodorizing made me sneeze all night. Look elsewhere for a room in Springfield!

My husband had a last minute scheduled meeting in Springfield & found all the hotels full because of the nearby Farm Progress Show. He attempted to stay here but checked out by 10pm because the sheets and pillows were filthy. When he lifted the top spread he found dark hairs so the sheets were obviously not changed from the last guest, or many guests. He decided the 2 hour drive home was better than staying there.

Inexpensive! Stayed 2 nights. Clean bed and bath; room clean and smelled fresh. Bath, wall art, HVAC unit, lamps, bed covers up to date. Furniture ok. Accommodating and friendly staff. Handy ice and laundry; washer was dirty and dryer had no exhaust vent to outside. Good parking. Easy location on 55. Close to all Rt. 66 and Lincoln attractions. Recently changed hands Jan 2017 and owner is gradually updating entire place.

Dimly lit hallways, stairs, rooms, and parking lot. Carpet could use changing. Strong smoke smell in hallways. No bedside plug-ins. No window. King bed base unit oddly noisy when sitting on edge of bed.

Again...good enough.
