Idyllic situated near the southeast coast and with snowcapped mountains nearby. Tranquil place not far from road 95 and N1. Good exterior and interior. Free parking. Seviceminded. Fast in- and outcheck. Lovely, clean , well equipped and spacious rooms with view. Excellent breakfast buffet. We ate dinner at the hotel, and lucky us the hotel serves the very best traditional Islandic meatsoup ever! A superb hotel!!!!!

We were so glad to get a room in this hotel as we were driving, tired, and about to run out of daylight. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The lobby staff was friendly. Our room was spacious and similar to most modern hotels.
Our room was in the adjacent building to the lobby and restaurant. The only thing really lacking from a modern hotel was an elevator.
The breakfast was excellent and included! It more than made up for the lack of an elevator. I have never had such a quality included breakfast. They certainly far surpass all the hotel chains in Canada and the USA. The bread was quality bread and fresh, still warm from the oven. They had a huge selection of fresh fruit. All of the breakfast options were quality food. It was EXCELLENT!
The hotel cost was good value because of the included delicious breakfast. It was a great way to start a new day of exploring, well rested and well fed!

This Hotel is a very nice and cozy place in the East of Iceland. It looks modest on the outside but inside it is amazing. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We just fell in love with the big living room, all wooden, with nice leather couches. You could choose a book and sit there reading for hours... The food was just amazing, I recommend the lamb and codfish, loved them.

An uninspiring location but otherwise the hotel was ok and the staff were welcoming. Rooms were clean but ours was overlooked by the campsite immediately outside so we felt we had to keep the curtains closed.
Evening meal was basic but inexpensive for Iceland. Good breakfast options with both a hot and cold buffet and a good choice of fruit.

OK, we were situated behind the hotel in our ‘touring’ camper van so only used the hotel for its restaurant. Now, that was a great decision.Simply put, my wife had the pumpkin soup and fish casserole while I had the Atlantic Char for starter followed by the lamb chops.
Well, using the term simple is basically a mistake as the food was great. Focusing on my lamb chops, they were to die for
with a taste far better than we get at home while my wife’s casserole drew as good as a response albeit she would have preferred veggies rather than salad. Glasses of good house wine were a plus as well.
Another plus was the staff - friendly, attentive with a genuine smile in their face.
Would recommend!
