This hotel was a disappointment for us.
Although Ms. Eleni in the reception -- upon our arrival in the afternoon -- gave a very good first impression, along with the gentleman carrying suitcases, the following days were just disappointing:
1) There was no 24-hours room service, which is not appropriate for a 5-star hotel. We requested for a bottle of water at midnight, and were asked to go ourselves downstairs to the bar.
2) The cleaning/mini-bar personnel insisted to knock on our door, while we had the “do not disturb” sign there. But after we would leave the room, and having asked them to clean, they would just do the bed.
3) We missed the second breakfast due to a wedding party the night before (went to the breakfast restaurant at around 11:00am) and the only choice we had was either the lunch menu or "bread with jam and coffee filter"…. in a 5-star hotel!
4) The first morning they did not allow my friend at 8.00am to sit for breakfast with his swim suit and a t-shirt after a short swim in the pool…. as if we had to wear evening dresses and tuxedos. The place was empty at that time. Very frustrating.
5) The most unacceptable of all, however, was the behavior of the responsible, named Maira who, without reminding us by phone that the check-out is at 12:00 or asking us if we would want late check-out (like in every 5-star hotel), she instead insisted that we need to leave immediately without even letting us an extra hour to pack and get ready – the excuse was that the next reservation was “on their way” and that room cleaning needed more than an hour! This un-professionalism is not appropriate for a 5-Star Hotel.
6) Lastly, we initially wanted to book the room with the private little pool, but thankfully we did not. There was no privacy in that room, as these rooms are located on an alley on the ground floor and they are visible from the passageway. I did a walk by and could see the occupants sunbathe...
Eleni on the first day at the reception, the person carrying suitcases, and Lydia who did the massage, were very good professionals, and we appreciated their service. The bed is also very good and comfortable for a good night’s sleep. HOWEVER, ARE THESE ENOUGH TO COMPENSATE FOR a 700€ bill for 2 days stay, WHILE YOU ARE BEING KICKED OUT IN SUCH BAD MANNERS?

Dear Eleni-Chrusiis,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay in our property. We pay attention and respect all our guest’s reviews and it is very important for us to hear your experience.

Your review seems to be following up another guests’ review made during last summer and that probably means you were staying in the same room. Even though some of your remarks have already been answered in the previous review, we will also respond thoroughly to you.

The room service in our hotel is available 16 hours per day (from 07:00 till 23:00). This information is written on our service directory which is inside every room in the hotel. We are very sorry that you found this inappropriate. Please note that from 2018 and onwards we will have a 24 hours room service.

Many guests leave their room without taking the non-disturb card off the door and maybe that’s why the housekeeping knocked at your door or maybe she made a simple mistake. We really apologize for any trouble caused by this. Our housekeeping department works very hard to meet our high standards of service and we are very proud of them. Please also note that we do ask our guests the preferred time of cleaning their room.

We are really sorry that you missed the second breakfast. The hours are given to all our guests in advance and even though our breakfasts stops at 10:00, we always extend the time to welcome our guests even till 10:30.
Our staff at the restaurant is instructed to keep the dressing code policies during meal times, respecting all guests of the hotel.

As in most hotels around the world, check out time is 12:00 noon unless otherwise stated. The hotel assistant manager simply reminded you of check out time, which is clearly stated on the registration form that every guest signs during check in. Furthermore, she tried to inform you of the hotel’s policy and possible arrangements, for example by trying to explain to you that your key cards would not be functioning after 12:00 noon, but she was not heard. After returning to the reception in order to re-program your room card, our Assistant Manager informed you that you can keep the room till 13:00, as we always do to satisfy our guests.

We thank you for your kind words about our personnel at the front desk and at the spa. We are happy that you enjoyed and had a good night’s sleep. Our mission is always to offer the highest level of service with dedication to quality and attention to your needs.

Once again thank you sincerely for your review, and we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you once again to Castello Boutique Resort & Spa.

Always at your disposal,
Manolis Giakoumakis

Beautiful room, comfortable and clean.
Very good breakfast and evening meal. Surprising extras such as ice cold lemonade and warn flannel at reception desk upon our midnight arrival and platter of food and wine in our room. Also bar staff bringing fresh fruit to our sun beds in the garden at midday.

This is just the place for busy people just wanting to completely chill out for a week or so.

This hotel provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Maura (apologies if I get a name wrong or miss anyone out), Stelios, Mike, Diana, Emmanuel, George and all other staff were exemplary in their care and friendliness. Although this was at the end of the season and it was the last week (things were closing and not all services available) we never felt our hotel gave anything less than 100%. We felt very looked after and the food was really good. We made use of the indoor pool nearly every day. Thoroughly relaxing and a lovely little fishing village too away from the hustle and bustle. Thank you to all!

The best things for me were first of all a lovely gentleman at the front desk, I believe his name was Dimitri, and a the chef was also very chatty and happy considering they work 90 odd hours a week. Excellent services from those guys.

The hotel was very clean all over, they moved us from one room to another instantly as the fan in the room appeared to be broken and noisy.

The morning and evening food was great, particularly the Thursday night. The hotel put on an outdoor event one day a week poolside. Freshly cooked meats and plenty of great food.

Right by the sea, although the entrance to the sea is a little rocky, there was a beach 200 odd metres up the road.

Lots of little places to eat. The only thing I would suggest is get something to drive to you can visit the around about areas.

A lovely village and hotel to stay for around a week or so, just returned from an end of season stay there
The Castello Boutique is very quiet and well positioned, within walking distance to the beach, Tavernas, boutiques and Car Rental Shops.
We decided for the taxi transfer that takes around 45 minutes, is very convenient and costs around EUR 60.
Your holidays at this hotel start with a warm welcome at the entrance and later with the ladies at the reception. After a welcome drink you will be guided to your room and the infrastructure will be explained in detail.
We decided to go for the Junior Suite and this was good choice, 2 floors with separate bedroom, very spacy, stylish equipped, 2 TV and a nice balcony.
We loved the breakfast with fresh fruit juice and coffe / tea served at the table, always fresh fruits and a nice selection of breads.
For dinner there was always a good selection of salads and various warm starters, this is self service. Not all of the main courses were our favourites, but you always could return to or complete with the warm starters.
Very nice selection of local wines, and if you once selected a wrong one which did not please you, there was absolutely no problem to change the bottle for another.
The big plus of the hotel is as mentioned herein before the excellent staff: Every single one very competent, dedicated, service driven, friendly, and always with a big smile!
So we enjoyed a perfect stay in this lovely hotel and wish to thank all the kind people who made it happen, just to mention a few here like Maura, Stelios, Mike, Christa, George and of course all others of this great team.
