Unpretentious with hearty delicious food!
Get the sausage to eat for breakfast and then buy some frozen to take home with you- you won't regret it.
Neighborhood restaurant with a great staff of friendly folks and a the food to support it!!
Afterward walk off your calories around AKSARBEN

Had the ricotta raspberry pancake with the house made sausage. Sausage was on the mild side but tasty. Pancakes were large, plenty of food, and good. Overall nice but not exceptional.

Great breakfast place in the Aksarben area!!
Highly recommend the ricotta pancakes and homemade Italian sausage for breakfast .
For sure the place is not much to look at but, the food is beyond reproach & the staff is friendly and fast.
The sausage can be bought in frozen bulk and taken home so you can recreate your own breakfast at home !

don't see were all the hype comes from. i was expecting to much from a 3 "D" cafe. stopped in on a sat. morning for breakfast. seating and service was fast, coffee tasted good. scrambled eggs were well over done, some edges were crispy. the italian sausage had all the right spices, however very dry. the pancake was good, but not $3 dollar good. i may go back just to be sure it wasn't a bad day in the kitchen.

We had heard about Amato's for so long, but never had a good opportunity to try it. Well, glad we finally did. I had the raspberry ricotta pancakes, my husband got the volcano (i think that was the name). Both so good! the pancakes were sweet, but savory and creamy. delicious. you can get with or without a variety of berries. the volcano was biscuits with an egg on top and smothered in gravy. my husband could have eaten two plates.
service is decent, nothing over the top, but not underwhelming either. we like the coziness of it, plus lots of omaha (and especialy creighton) decor.
we went on a Saturday...if you want to try the lunch options go on weekday--no lunch on weekends.
