“Awesome view is worth the climb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

Most climbed mountain in Alaska. Lots of hikers from 2 years old to 80. Most of the trail is fairly easy. The last 200 yards at the top is a bit challenging with hand over hand rock. Not recommended for little kids at that stage but some can handle it. Take water with you on hot days. Don't forget your camera.

“Far, but oh so close!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2012

Like others say, this is a relatively short, sometimes steep hike. In the spring and early summer, you will get wet from melting snow, especially after near-record snow in 2012. The view is fantastic from the parking lot, let alone the top. And the hike is worth it. Know yourself. Plenty of people can do this in shorts and casual shoes because they have a high tolerance for foot discomfort, cool breezes, and wet feet and calves. If this isn't you, bring a small backpack/daypack with a light wind/rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, mosquito repellent, water (some or other beverage), and snacks. The temperature changes every 15 minutes, and you should be prepared for it. From the top, you can still get a cell phone signal in case of an emergency. Look west, and you're looking at the city of Anchorage. Look east, and you're looking at the wilderness and, quite possibly, wildlife! It's a good, short trip

“Great Hike For Anyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2012

Beginners and up love this trail. I like that it's fun and easy going, but provides a challenge at the same time. Not to mention the view of the city is amazing from the top.
