This restaurant, right in the heart of the town offers a unique experience. You are in a cave and will have a set menue. Star of the menue is bread. Baked in an open fire right in the restaurant. They serve typical local food and wine as much as you want. Price very reasonable and staff helpful and friendly.

I have eaten in other Troglodyte restaurants in this region but I have to say this was exceptional
A very warm welcome and a great explanation of the specialities cooked in a wood fired oven at the entrance to the cave.
We had the offered special starting with a local Coteaux de Loire semi sweet wine for an apero. This was a magic glass which seemed to refill quite often!!!
Mushroom caps filled with garlic butter and the special wood baked home made flat breads (just seconds out of the oven) led us onto rillettes with more hot bread then a stew of tomatoes and white beans with deep fried pork breast cubes and yes you have guessed more bread straight form the oven. A salad then cheese preceded a baked apple with pommeau and vanilla ice cream then coffee. We had a good bottle of a Loire valley red and change fro 100 euros for four of us INCREDIBLE1

Came across Le Caveau after visiting the nearby Mystère des Faluns (worth a visit!). Their formula is simple - a menu based around a local speciality. If you're looking for a choice, go somewhere else. If you like good, simple food cooked very well and beautiful specialty bread prepared in the restaurant then enjoy ! Lovely, friendly staff and very good value for money. A nice experience and something regional and different.

We stopped in on recommendation from our hotel.

The owners greet you with a smile. They served delicious fresh hot bread from a fire oven. Your fill them and enjoy.

The atmosphere is unique with the cave... worth a visit.

The host was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was unique. The price was reasonable, especially since wine was included. But the rillette de porc reminded me of cold chicken salad before any seasoning is added. The fried pork was the same. Nothing special. The goat cheese and mushroom courses were the best by far.
