Went to Kubota Gardens and enjoyed this calming, colorful and texture-filled park. The contrasts between trees, shrubs, flowers, ponds, bridges and stones is stunning and well worth the visit. Consider the Gardens for a photo shoot, a picnic, or just a nice walk through nature. Thank you to Seattle Parks for maintaining this wonderful Seattle landmark.
A must see year round. Great for couples enjoying a nice peaceful walk. My wife and I go here often.
As everyone has said, this is off the beaten path, but worth the hunt. The Garden is free and has a parking lot, but if it's full, as it was when we went, there is plenty of street parking very close.
At first it seems as if there is only one small loop, but there are lots of paths that veer off the main one, with beautiful views and opportunities for pictures. It was annoying that some people acted as if they were in a photo shoot and spent 15-20 minutes in the prime locations. A little courtesy please.
There is one path where you can climb way up looking down on the falling water, which my favorite view. The paths could have been labeled better and I didn't see a lot of the plants labeled, but I really enjoyed this garden.
Kubota Garden is a Seattle city park that is free to all who want to visit. Even with other people roaming around, it was quiet and very peaceful.
It's off the beaten path from your usual destinations, in Rainier Beach. The park is really nice despite the stigma surrounding the neighborhood. Also many great places to take pictures. Best of all it's free!
Really pretty and surprisingly expansive Japanese garden which is free to the public. Did appear to need a bit of maintenance in some areas in terms of weeding, but overall was lovely and tranquil. Not too busy with people. Lots of wildlife, including baby ducklings, turtles, rabbits, and birds, as well as traditional koi in many of the numerous ponds. Well worth a visit!
