Eaven that the Hotel is close to the train station, it is verry quiet. Private PP for cars.
The cuisine ist formidable (we had halve pension). Reasonable Price. Tournai is between Macon and Dijon, on the River Saône. Verry good situated for trips in the country (Cluny).
Interresting Museum in town and cathedral.

Room Tip: we had a room at the first Floor, the Windows to the Place de la Gare

Hotel was a bit old fashioned, clean and comfy bed. Near railway station, but well sound proofed so no problem with noise. Needs a shower hook and curtain in the bathroom as its difficult holding shower whilst washing. Restaurant was superb, a small complimentary creamy cauliflower soup then snails in red wine, next tandour pintade with ble and puree and blette, delicious. Excellent selection of wines, the Givrey was recomended. The presentation of the food was superb. The two young waiters service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent with good choiice and as much as you wanted. The lady receptionist was very friendly and helpfull.

Having stayed previously at Tournus we like the town. We wanted to try another hotel so booked Le Terminus. We had travelled from Spain, about 745 miles and we greeted in a fashion. We went to the room and there was no air conditioning working, and it was hot. We had the windows open all night because we were told nothing could be done, no offer of a refund or discount for dinner. The noise from the station/ trains meant we had little sleep. On leaving early next morning I met with a lady in the car park, I offered her the room key. She never ask if we had a good stay or not, only requested "did you pay your bill last night!" Of course I had and off we went, would not go again.

Conveniently situated on the main thorough fare through Tournus. Good. Sized rooms, with clean bathroom, very comfortable bed. Dinner was excellent, well presented and very tasty. Breakfast a little over priced but that us French hotels! €6 for parking.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the miserable and rude receptionist said she had no record of our booking, despite me showing her copies of e- mails sent and received. We were then told, we could only stay if we booked dinner in the hotel restaurant, as we like to have a choice we said we would eat else where, we were then told as a consequence of our decision we would be given the the smallest room in the hotel and not the one we booked, we stood our ground and received the room we originally booked. We were told by the receptionist that she likes to get to know her customers over dinner, this seems quite ironic, given her complete lack of inter personal skills. Like others before, we had a wonderful meal opposite at Les Ramparts. The room itself was actually well decorated and a good size, but right over the busy main road, so a good nights sleep was not achieved. Upon checking out, when paying the bill, the receptionist, said you didn't eat in the hotel, typical English! Please, save your money and spend it in a hotel where they value your custom, avoid at all costs!
