This Hotel has obviously had a glorious past, yet is overdue for a "Makeover" in parts.
The receptionist was very stressed when we arrived and although we requested a non smoking room told us that we must not smoke in it, then repeated it just to be sure, so "Smokers Beware"!
It was worth struggling past the not so warm welcome, as it then got better :-
The room was very nice and spacious with a large comfortable bed, bathroom spotless with quality linen and toiletries.
The dining room which we were shown into was like something from Alo Alo !
Walls had peeling plaster.
The food was very good , and the value for money could not be criticised, except for a very small
glass of very average wine for 5 euro .
The breakfast buffet was the best we have ever seen in France and the lady on duty for this
incredible spread could not have been more charming, so we departed happier than we were on arrival.

First stayed here 40 years ago.Wonderful wine as it is in the best area. Used to be a massive automaton music machine in the dining room. There is a special night in France when they celebrate the Lily of the valley flower and a young girl sold us a bunch for one franc. My wife has now passed on but I have wonderful memories of the nights we stayed there on our trips to and from spain by car. Happy times and well recommended.

Stayed one night at the beginning of our holiday. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. For France, the bed was big and extremely comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. I was also impressed by the provision of cotton wool face pads in a 3* hotel.
There was one problem. When we arrived we were told that in the summer months guests are expected to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. We did not want to do this and had already booked somewhere else for dinner. When we looked again at our confirmation email this information had been added at the end, in French small print. The rest of the email had been in English and there is no mention of this condition anywhere on the hotel website. We were 'let off this once' quite sternly by the receptionist, but I don't think the hotel actually has any right to impose this and it is rather sharp practice.

The hotel was good! it was a nice area and lots of places to go to. The rooms were fine but everytime a car or lorry went past, it made a loud noise and the beds shook abit. The bathrooms were abit creepy when your on your own but it was very clean and the room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and speak english so we could understand. When we got up the breakfast was very nice, it was a buffet where you could get your own stuff. Didnt like the coridoors, had a funny smell and were abit freaky. It was a really good hotel, nice staff, in a good area and nice food:)

I'm not sure what has happened to this place! We chose it for an overnight stop because of some good reviews on here, and because it had a bib gourmand from the Michelin guide, for the Charolais menu. To be fair, I should say that we stayed there the night before the May Day holiday.

No complaints about the hotel. We had a nice room at a reasonable price, and breakfast was OK.

But the restaurant! First of all there was no Charolais menu, in fact no beef at all that we could see. More importantly the cooking skill and the quality of the raw ingredients was a mile away from matching the pretensions of the menu or the prices! Both our meals were virtually inedible and the wine was worse. The only diners were non french overnight guests in the hotel - not a local or even a french person to be seen, which tells it's own story.

Just don't go there! There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Tournus, one a Logis with hotel prices much the same as Le Terminus, and menus not that much more expensive. How we wished we had gone there.

Don't miss Tournus though - it has a fantastic abbey church dating from saxon times, and is a lovely little town.
