Fairly inexpensive right near the edge of Lieksa. Kind of like a dorm room, but not bad. Refrigerator, microwave, etc in the hall. Door to reception locks at 10 pm or so and we went out the back door. We stayed 2 nights with a room facing the street--about 9 pm every loud car and truck and boom box runs back and forth on the main street...I think they keep this up until midnight. There are 4 rooms on the other side of the hall facing the back of the hotel--I would INSIST on one of those rooms--OR stay in the other hotel in town--Hotelli Puustelli--seemed a lot quieter there. Also Puustelli has about the only restaurant open after 5--they roll up the streets in Lieksa about that time. No wonder the "kids" have to drive down main street. We ran out of toilet paper after the first night (no room service) and the men's bathroom near the reception was out too, so I stole some from the women's bathroom. Breakfast was basic...meatballs were cold the first day and room temperature the next day. Receptionist was cute.

Room tip: Get a room in the back!!

There is not much choice in Lieksa, and this old and small hotel offers basic rooms and basic confort. The entrance is disconcerting: you can't find it really. The hotel is in a building toghether with an electronics shop with big yellow signs and you ask yourself where is the door of the hotel... in the end you find it, there are some old concrete steps, then an old door, and then, behind the door, the old stairs that lead you to the "reception".
The room (it is a restaurant room, but the restaurant didn't work during our stay) is very dark, but not ugly at all.
Rooms are basic, they looks like old and they are not stilish, but you can sleep pretty well, anyway. Breakfast is good enaugh, not bad indeed. In the end, the hotel is not beautiful, but is quite cheap, clean and quiet enaugh for an unpretentious stay.
