We were a family group of 3 and stayed at this unique bed and breakfast and were very impressed with the space and the host. He went out of his way to accommodate our requests during our stay as well as informing us of local happenings. We appreciated the attention to detail with the woodwork in this hand built house as well as his handcrafted fishing boat. If you want the Alaska experience in Seward, look no further. Great coffee and conversation as well as heirloom sourdough, this is a bed and breakfast that actually serves breakfast. I wish we could give them a 10 on a scale of 1-5.

Richard and Sue are the owners of this very nice B&B. Richard is a master carpenter and has built this small (3 bedroom) B&B. The craftsmanship is outstanding, check out the hand-hewn alder stair rails. Nice quiet place with great sourdough pancakes for breakfast.

This was the best B&B I have ever stayed at. My wife and I spent two nights here. Everything was superb: the hosts, the breakfast, the location and the accommodations. The proprietors are gracious and fascinating people. They also provided excellent advice about what to do in the Seward area.

On a recent visit to Alaska with my wife and another couple, we spent three nights at Sourdough Sunrise B & B. Richard and Sue were very cordial and the house was very clean. The beds were comfortable and and rooms spacey. The two rooms we had are unique with vaulted ceilings that tapered down towards the beds which meant you could hit your head if you weren't paying attention, but each room had two beds giving you options. Each morning bacon and sourdough pancakes ruled with fresh fruit. Homemade jam were a nice touch for the pancakes. Richard and Sue were great hosts and the lives they have led and stories they have are very interesting. I would recommend staying here. The only thing that might enhance the experience would be to have additional options available at breakfast like yogurt and granola.

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful B&B. Good pancakes, nice hosts, clean, quiet, comfortable rooms and wonderful woodwork. Both rooms we rented had 2 sets of double beds. 5 minute drive to store, less than 10 minutes to downtown Seward and just off Exit Glacier Road (which is a short drive away and nice hike to see a glacier).
