This delightful B&B was a great find. It’s not in the city but close and in a lovely setting. The owners, David and Miriam, are new to the place but clearly committed to making it work. They were available at any time for any problem.

Breakfast was amazing with plenty of variety and scrumptious home-baked goods. They also catered to my strictly vegan daughter, making sure she had enough food.

Our room was beautiful and great to return to after a long day out.

I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the Kona area. You won’t regret it.

We stayed here for a few nights in mid August this year. Great location and value plus charming hostess. Japanese tea house hugging a giant Banyan tree was our favorite place to stay. Make your own omelets from free ranging hens. Watch the sun rise in the tree tops surrounded by tropical garden.

Room Tip: Japanese Tea House.

Hale Maluhia Country Inn is a special place with great atmosphere, set in the midst of beautiful vegetation. Our room was small but clean and friendly. We had a very good breakfast, with a large choice of everything, in company of our delightful hosts Miriam and David who made us feel at home and comfortable.
We recommend this place.

We stayed here in July 2017 for a 25th reunion with fellow YWAMers from way back in 1992, when I was living together with them near here.

Hale Maluhia is a great little retreat just up the mountain from Kona. It is under new mgmt, who are giving it some needed TLC. Miriam and Dave are fantastic people and made our stay even better. In fact, meeting and interacting with them was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Hawaii. We highly recommend you come here - and make sure you spend some time getting to know Miriam and Dave. It'll be a highlight of your trip, also.

This is a lovely location away from the tourist crowds. We so enjoyed meeting the other guests each morning for coffee and a delightful breakfast of fresh fruits, pastries and hot items such as omelettes, french toast or waffles, while watching the colorful island birds swarm the feeder in the courtyard by our breakfast lanai. Manager Ken was always at the ready with suggestions on things to do, places to see and in general, his willingness to share his knowledge of the island was very much appreciated.
