This is not a review on the regular menu, but for the weekend prime rib and seafood buffet.
On Fridays and Saturdays (17:30-22:25) they have a special buffet menu with very good quality prime rib and seafood. Pricing is not bad at $45 per adult.
Kids 6-22 are $23.50
This buffet is fun to go to every once in awhile to treat yourself or someone else. With all the seafood and it being a buffet, I can only do it once every few months.
The winner for me is the fresh catch (this night was mahimahi) fresh pasta, sashimi, poke and crab legs.
Everything else is good, but those are the ones to go all out for.
I often make the mistake of putting a scoop of rice on my plate first, due to that being the normal staple of almost all meals here. That's a mistake at this buffet as there is just so much more to eat, and getting full on rice is poho (a waste).
The night we went was the night of the Christmas parade, and it was pouring rain. This caused the restaurant to not be able to use any of its outdoor seating. Naturally, this created a huge mess for the staff, who had over 300 reservations that night.
I didn't make one, but we were luckily able to be squeezed into a corner in front of the small bar. It worked out perfect.
The staff were super busy but did a great job considering the circumstances.
Parking was validated, so no charge.
I'll be back, this is an ono buffet, right in town, and the price isn't outrageous. All around A for King Kamehameha Hotel and Honus.
