An oasis in the harsh desert. We often go here in the summer, when there are very few tourists. It is nice to sit out by the pool and a café table and have a drink and dinner. There's music most nights too. The beautiful Oasis of Mara is on the property and the cabins are sweet if you are staying over. They are mostly adobe cabins and are among the historic early adobes built in this area.
We are local after having moved here in June 2013. It was a great place to land after the scorching drive across the Mojave! Oh, and the breakfasts are nice as well, featuring decent coffee, homemade breads, and oatmeal.

We were charmed by the location, accommodations, and the accessible and caring staff. Had a “user” problem with the heat in our cabin and unwittingly mentioned it to a woman at the restaurant bar. She was the Inn owner and dropped everything to take care of the issue! Got an interesting history of the Inn from her sister which added to its unique personality. Great stay!

Quaint and cozy spread of historic cabins near a natural oasis. Friendly staff and charming rooms with much character. Very convenient proximity to JTNP, stores, gas stations etc. The inn includes a pool, restaurant and complimentary continental breakfast. Recommended for families and couples alike. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the park.

Wonderful not because it is fancy and plush but because it is perfect in its setting. Cozy small units/cabins with fireplace and no more than one needs. Walk out the door for sunrise over the desert and gaze at the Milky Way and Orion before bed. The restaurant and bar are great; breakfast a good start before hiking. Don't miss out getting a box lunch: hearty sandwich, fruit, chips, cookie. Small coolers in each room, ice in the kitchen to keep things cold while you are hiking. Tour their garden/farm area adjacent to the inn: they grow much of the restaurant food. Chat and learn from the friendly women and men tending things. Wouldn't change a thing.

Our Marana, AZ hiking club stayed at 29 Palms Inn twice in January 2018. First was a trip of 4 hike leaders to scout out hikes for our entire club and the second was a group of 19 hikers late in January 2018. The staff was great. Our reservations were handled very professionally and the rooms were comfortable and updated (although the décor was purely Palms Springs funky). I can give this location my full endorsement.

Room Tip: All the rooms are fully updated but the price seems to increase with room size.
