Stayed here for two nights en route to Lake Garda. Booked on line so wasn't sure what to expect as reviews are mixed. First impressions good, in a breathtaking mountain location above Innsbruck. It's a family run hotel and the owner and staff are welcoming and friendly and speak reasonable English. Our room was small but compact with a small balcony and furnishings were in keeping with the Alpine/Tyrollean style which actually worked quite well. Breakfast was usual continental fare with mostly local cheeses and meats. We had evening meal here both nights which, although limited, offers several choices and some tasty local dishes. majority of wines and beers are also local Austrian and the Austrian red wine is actually very good, reasonably priced and something of a surprise.A huge plus is that the hotel is a five minute walk away from the Innsbruck tram system which takes you into the Altstadt of the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of in minutes. Alternatively, you can travel in the other direction to view some wonderful mountain scenery. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Room Tip: There are no lifts in this hotel and the rooms on upper floors are accessed by several flights of stairs.

Rooms: small, dark, oldfashioned and used, balcony with a nice view
Bath: from the seventies, no window
Breakfast: ok (nothing more)
Dinner: salad buffet is a joke, deep frozen vegetables etc. for the a la carte dishes. staff wandering around the tables all the time
Reception staff: friendly family
Pool and sauna facilities: small and oldfashioned as well. The whole hotel could use quite some renovation works... would not return

A good family run hotel at 5 min walk distance to Mutters Stb station.Tram to Innsbruck center arrives at 04- 34 past from early morning to night. It takes 15 minutes. Hotel has a decent breakfast and a limited menu of a la carte dinner. They have a sauna and very minor fitness facilities, I would prefer there again. Just to overnight and to experience the most unforgettable morning walk to the tram station. There are staff speaking English but dont wait for anyone you see around to speak fluent English with you.

We were sent to this hotel via the Innsbruck tourist office. It is to the south of the town off the Brenner pass road. It is in a residential area but there is lots of parking. Our room was small but comfortable. The swimming pool on the lower ground level is excellent and has a small terrace where it is possible to sit in the sun. Too deep for small children but a nice temperature. Mutters has a station 5 minutes walk from the hotel and the journey takes 25 minutes to the City centre. Well worth the money for Euros 5.80 return to avoid parking costs and the congestion in Innsbruck. Food was simple but correct and not expensive. We had a good evening meal and good buffet breakfast in the morning, the latter included in the hotel price. It is a family business and I wish them success.

Room Tip: Leave your car in the car park and use the tram to travel to Town

This little hotel is at the foot of the mountain, about a 10 minute drive up to the main structure with a gorgeous frozen waterfall on the way. But the hotel is in a somewhat confusing parking area for all the other skier-centric hotels in the area. Turn down the big street and maneuver very slowly or you'll miss it!
The hotel itself though was cozy with a great group of women running the place. It was super clean with a balcony that had a great view of part of the mountain. Service was really excellent, with a good breakfast selection before you hit the slopes. We were there around Christmas time and they left a plate of holiday cookies in the room for us, which was just that added bit of awesome.
They speak English and German so communication was easy since my Deutsch isn't great. Overall it was a great experience and I'd stay again on my next visit.
