We visited the Tirolerhof hotel in Zell am See at the end of March, for a skiing holiday. There were six of us, ages ranging from 74 to 2 years old, and this hotel suited all of our needs incredibly well, from the moment we arrived.
First impressions were excellent as we were warmly welcomed by Reception staff. The entrance lobby is very impressive, with comfortable chairs and sofas, and the glasses of prosecco and juice for the children were very welcome, as our flight had been delayed. We were upgraded to 3 junior suites, two of which had interlinking doors, whilst the third was next door. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, each with a balcony. Ours overlooked the garden and were quiet, except when the refuse collectors arrived early one morning! The bathrooms are big, with bath and shower, and endless hot water. Elemis products are supplied, and each day fresh clean towels, including ones for the Spa. Each day the rooms are cleaned and fresh bedlinen is provided mid week.
The dining room is comfortably furnished, with white linen table covers and napkins. The breakfast is buffet service except for the coffee, and includes food to satisfy the needs of even the fussiest eater. The evening meals have a choice of 3 main courses, which you are asked to choose at breakfast, and always include a wide salad selection in addition to the three courses given. There is a children's menu but the chef will cook most foods that the children wish for. The meals are waitress served.
We made full use of the excellent swimming pool, and did not find it too cold as other reviewers have mentioned. The children would have soon complained if the pool was too cold.
The Spa facilities are impressive, and the relaxing areas are particularly welcoming, with the complimentary fruit teas and nuts. The treatment rooms, on the 4th floor are superbly equipped and the treatments are excellent and reasonably priced.
All the staff work incredibly hard to ensure guests enjoy their stay. They are friendly, courteous and helpful and do all they can to make you feel special. They were particularly kind to the children, and engaged with them in their games.
I can not fault this superb hotel, and would recommend the Tirolerhof to everyone who appreciates quality and a touch of luxury once in a while.

Beautifully decorated and gave a fabulous first impression. However, the atmosphere was stuffy, the staff unfriendly, the food was pretentious and not great quality. The spa area was small, the water cold.
Great first impression, disappointing lasting impression. Not for us.

The Tirolerhof is an excellent hotel. It has a very authentic Tirolean interior with a grand reception, bar and dining room. The hotel stands out from other 4/5 star hotels largely due to the staff who create a warm, friendly and extremely helpful experience, even towards the end of the Winter season, the staff are very attentive and create a feeling of a personalised experience, (The reception staff know your names without looking you up, for example). The other staff also need a mention, the housekeeping is of a high standard, the whole hotel is very clean, even when busy. The chefs, and restaurant staff work very hard to produce a diverse menu and buffet which is cooked beautifully, and the waiting staff work equally hard to ensure you looked after every night. Small touches like a schedule of events in the hotel, and daily news/weather in your room each day, along with your room topped up with towels for the spa makes this hotel one which I can't wait to come back to in summer or for the ski season.

Room tip: Go for a Junior Suite, it's more expensive, but worth it.

We love going to Zell am See for spring skiing and this was the first time we had booked the Tirelhof.
First impressions were very good as we entered the opulent lobby and given a glass of prosecco.
Check in was very smooth and our bags were taken to our room promptly.
The room itself was very comfortable and clean with a balcony from which you could look up the mountain.
In the restaurant the service and food was very good and I must give a special mention to our waitress, Roberta, who was excellent all week.
Spa facilities were exceptional and very welcome after a hard day's skiing.
Facilities in the Ski cellar were good and the transport to the City Express lift was efficient and convenient.
Overall I would say the Tirelhof is a very nice hotel with good food, impressive facilities and friendly efficient staff and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in Zell am See.

A quality hotel in every area.

Warm cheerful welcome with welcome drink.

Rooms are very nice, we were lucky to be upgraded due to an invasion of Dutch (1100 of them) on the last day of our holiday.

Food is very good indeed. Breakfast buffet and 3 course evening meal, from duck, veal and venison during the week we stayed.

The hotel is spotless, very clean and tidy. Could not fault it.

The spa is really big, lots of different areas, sauna, steam room, with relaxing areas as well.

Thanks for a fantastic holiday.
