We came to this hotel for 7nights and had an absolute ball. The hotel is fab and no words can describe the owners and staff for their attention to detail. Breakfast and the evening meal were outstanding. Any questions we asked in relation to days out were answered with bus times and any other info we requested. A room to dry wet clothes was also on offer.
The bedroom had a balcony with fabulous views of the mountains.
We would definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay

This restaurant has been visited by my daughter and son in law on a number of occasions and raved about.I was on holiday with my husband celebrating his 80th birthday. From the start the staff were fantastic without being overpowering. The partners introduced themselves to us and made us feel very welcome. When the food arrived it was far beyond our expectations, absolutely wonderful,it would score a Michelin star in England. The prices are very competitive, you would expect to pay a lot more for the quality.Thank you for the experience

My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel see hof for 6 days.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. We did not request breakfast for our stay but decided once we were there that this was the best option.
After two days, the staff offered to give us a massively reduced rate (7 euros rather than 12) if we were planning on having breakfast for our entire stay (which we were).

The breakfast was good with a choice of cold breads, toast, spreads, cheese, meat, cereal and pastries. Also hot options of bacon, sausages, beans and scrambled eggs.
Juice and coffee were also available.

The hotel room was nice and clean with comfy beds. We had a balcony on the third floor with a view of the church. The room was a little hot in mid June and there isn't air conditioning. There was a fan, but we choose to leave the patio door open a little instead which worked fine.
We had to prop the door open with a suitcase, maybe a door stop would help? The patio door didnt have a handle on the outside which made it not possible to close from the outside so we had to be careful of flies etc coming in whilst enjoying the patio. It would be helpful if there could be some sort of outside handle added to the outside of the door because when unlocked the door stands fully wide open and cannot be held closed without a heavy prop from the inside.

The Wi-fi worked well throughout the whole of the hotel.

On the downside my girlfriend wasn't given the option to use the sauna on request one evening and was told this was only for use in the winter months because nobody wanted to sauna in the summer.

It would also be good if there was a small fridge/ mini bar for keeping drinks cold. We often get thirsty in the night and it would be nice to have access to chilled water.

The church bells ring every 15 min (especially at 7) but it didn't bother us as we are up early and also earplugs are provided. The bells do not chime during the night which from reading other reviews is a recent change for the better.

The location of the hotel is superb, it is two minute walk to the Zell Lake, 2 minute walk to Zell am See train station, 2 min walk to a supermarket (Billa). The ski lifts for Schmittenhöhe are approximately a 30 min walk or a short bus ride away. We love walking so choose to walk, it is quite steep, but fine if you are physically fit.

The hotel doesn't offer a summer card, only a 10% discount card, which means all the buses, ski lifts etc must be paid for for every use. The ski lift in Zell am see costs c EUR 20 one way or c. EUR 30 return. For Kaprun this rises to EUR 40 for the highest peaks. If you are planning on multiple trips up and down the mountains it might be worth investigating a hotel which offers a summer card. If you only intend a couple of trips to the mountains then it probably works out cheaper to stay here and buy the ski passes separately. (It is not possible to purchase a summer card, they can only be obtained through partnering hotels)

The restaurant that is part of the hotel is really good with both indoor and outdoor seating. We found the apple struddle here to be the best we had in our two week stay in various places in Austria!

I would happily recommend this hotel for a trip to Zell am See.

We would definitely stay here again. Not only is the hotel in a fantastic location, across the road from the lake, 5min walk from the railway station and bus station but above all you get a lovely warm welcome from the staff. There is a special atmosphere, where you are made to feel part of a family, nothing is too much trouble. We loved the cosy atmosphere of the bar and restaurant. The rooms were very clean. We made the most of the week enjoying the natural beauty of the area and look forward to returning in the future.

Stayed at The Seehof for a week starting 2nd June.
Arrived late after a delayed flight and as there had been no sandwiches available on our flight we were desperate for something to eat. On our transfer to the hotel, we had noticed that the local eateries were closing or closed. We asked if there was anywhere where we could get some food and Anita who was at reception sat us in the bar and offered us the Restaraunt menu, even though the kitchen closes around 8pm... this was after 1015pm. A great welcome to start our holiday off and greatly appreciated. The meal was fabulous and we felt very grateful for this kind act.
Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with all the facilities we could want for from a 3* hotel.
Great view across the lake and a balcony with table and chairs to enjoy the view.
We ate at The See Bar at the hotel several times during the week for our evening meal, and everything was fabulous. Anita, Veronika and Sabine and all the rest of the staff could not do enough for us.
Breakfast was super, plenty of choice and again everything clean and orderly. Super staff on duty during breakfast and all very friendly.
Great location for the town centre, for a boat trip across the lake and for walks around the lake.
All in all a great stay and we felt very 'looked after'.
My only gripe was the train noise from outside.... not a problem if you are a heavy sleeper, but after being given ear plugs on the 3rd night I slept a little better.
A bonus would be an ice machine in the reception area, as it was very warm whilst we were there and as there is not a fridge in the room, even our bottle of water ended up warm.
Bar staff were again very helpful and would give us an ice bucket of ice on request, but an ice machine would be a real asset to the hotel.
Thank you to ALL at Hotel Seehof for making our stay so memorable.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the lake are fabulous although the train noise is a problem.
