We stayed in a 1 bedroom King suite for 5 nights. The room was awesome with a balcony overlooking the pool. The people working there are very knowledgeable about the history of the building. It is close to everything in the French Quarter. We would stay here again without hesitation

Many changes have taken place since my first stay at this hotel 25 years ago. The one thing that has not changed is the feeling of coming home. When I walk through the front door, it smells like history with a pinch of cloves and something exotic from the tropics. After all this time, I still prefer this place.

There is an incredible staff here that will make you feel at home and help meet your needs. My best advice is to think about your needs prior to making reservations. There are plenty of quiet rooms to be found in a neighborhood not known for it's silence. In the course of my visits, it was necessary to change rooms a couple of times. The staff has been gracious without fail. It is important to know as you plan that customer service here is top notch. They want your stay to be comfortable and pleasant.

Bedding is delicious and soft. Pillows are Tempur-Pedic. Extra blankets and pillows are available. House-keeping consists of kind-hearted humans who do their best. If there is ever an over-sight, please let someone know. They will come through for you.

This glorious home was built in 1839. As an antique broker, I get excited all things that survive the wear and tear of time. You will notice imperfections. It might help to know that this place has suffered destruction--from Union Occupation to floods and fires and hurricanes--and yet, the structure stands like a victor raising a single-finger salute. Although the original glory of the home was completely undone as the years went by, so much has been restored to the original fashion that suited her so well. She is 178 years old. Remember that and be awed. Any place worthy of such stories should have scars.

As you walk the old streets of the Quarter, notice the resurrection ferns growing out of the brick mortar. There is so much beauty in the imperfection of this place. All of it.

If you love to shop chain stores for mass-produced products, faced and fronted and identical as clones, this is *not* the place for you. If you prefer to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts in a place filled with stories...you'll love Olivier House. So does a Pulitzer Prize winning novelist...and Francis Ford Coppola...and Allen Ginsberg...not to mention a ghost or two. Those of you who thrive on adventure will feel right at home.

Room tip: Let the staff know your needs.

Stayed for six nights in June 2017 and loved every minute of our stay. Had a two bedroom unit which was fantastic. This is not a new state of the art accommodation. The old style homestead conversion is great and contributes to the experience in this great location. Lots of fun and things happening. A very short walk to Bourbon Street and basically anywhere else in the french quarter.

Make sure you get to Frenchman Street for more authentic New Orleans jazz experience.

Beds were comfortable, wifi great - everything was enjoyable. The pool was nice to relax in after wandering the streets.

Would have been five star if there were an elevator to the second level, and lighting in the rooms was a little dim which made it hard to find things at times.

Also, the television in the main room didn't work but this was no big issue as your time is much better spent out on the streets enjoying yourself.

Highly recommend this to all. Would definitely stay here if lucky enough to ever return.

Beautiful, historic and lovely is the Olivier house hotel in New Orleans La. I stayed there on Memorial Day weekend and just fell in love. It's so historic, well kept, warm and helpful staff and definatley has the southern New Orleans charm. It's unique decor and friendly staff makes you want to come back again and again. It's right in the heart of the French quarter near wonderful restaurants and points of interest. I highly highly recommended staying there .

Room tip: All rooms are decorated differently and different sizes my favorite was 106 ground floor near courtyard,
